Compatibility Issues Between Goflight Modules and X-Plane 12

We bought the Goflight Interface Tool software for X-Plane to use with X-Plane 12. We have some modules, such as the GF-MCP, two GF-166 modules, etc. The software recognizes the modules, but when we use the default C90 aircraft in X-Plane 12, the instruments do not work or do not interact with the simulator. Occasionally, the modules function correctly. We tried troubleshooting by disconnecting all modules and testing them one by one, but the modules still did not work.

In the software's status page, the three green LEDs for Goflight, X-Plane, and aircraft appear active. When we press a button or turn a knob, the Goflight LED blinks, but the aircraft LED does not. When a module functions correctly, both LEDs blink.

  • If the modules occasionally function correctly then its hardware related. In particular the GF166's are notorious for locking up and are extremely finicky when it comes to the hardware they are connected to. You can search this forum for some workarounds on the GF166's as each system is different.

I would unplug all modules and start with one at a time that normally work OK, such as the MCP/ Pro, T8's, P8's etc. The GF166 and GF46 will require you working hard to stabilise the hardware (see forum posts for help).

Also, if you have the MCP Pro with firmware that isn't A25 it will lock up even when using GoFlights own software drivers.

    Best wishes

@EspacioAereo , you don’t say how your GoFlight units are connected to the motherboard.

Maybe this post will help. USB2 is still the most reliable method.
