FF 777 assigning A/P engage pushbutton to mcp pro X-Plane

Hi folks,

as this is my first ever post in a forum I hope to do it right...

My problem is to assign the A/P engage switch if FF777 to my mcp pro.
The detective shows 2 datarefs for this action: "anim/33/switch = 0" on the first clck and "anim/33/switch = 1" on the second click.

This is a normal push button, it only engages the autopilot. Why are there two different dataref values when clicking as this ONLY ACTIVATES the A/P ?

I have started working with GIT two dys ago and love it!!! But I still need to learn a lot.

Running X-Plane 11.05r2 and GIT latest version (Nov.16 release)

Any explanation would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

That dataref stores the state of the A/P engage button. It has a value of 1 if its on and a value of 0 if its off.

You may be interested to know there is full config for the FF777 MCP PRO and EFIS in the download section of this website.

  • Hi Steve,
    thanks for your answer! I think you misunderstood me though: 1st time I click dataref = 1 (on) which is ok;
2nd click is dataref = 0 but A/P is still on! A/P can only be disc. via disc button!
This is what makes me unsure what to assign!

    1. A/P arm dataref1 A/P is now on
    2. disco via disco button A/P is off
    3. A/P rearm dataref0!!! A/P is on again
    4. disco via disco button A/P is off

this procedure goes on and on, so if I assign dataref 1 I can only arm once until I reassign dataref 0 for on, which gives me another arming...

Am I thinking a wrong way or is rhis to be done via a kind of loop?

    Regards,
    Alex
  • P.S. I have noticed the preconfig, but I want to learn to manage this precious software
  • I would load up the config from the downloads section and see what Slayer did. I think he built a bespoke event. It could be that the bespoke event doesn't work properly, and like you said, the disconnect button needs to be used.

You can backup your work by making a copy of Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool before doing the above.

  • Thanks a lot Steve,
I will work on your advice and keep you informed.

BTW: Great support, great Software, very quick response, just completely different than mentioned in some forums which has kept me away from using GIT for a long time until now ;)
  • PROGRESS update:

Slayer´s bespokes work pretty fine! A/P is manageable now and some more assignments are done perfectly. (gonna read them out for sure to learn from his work)

Only one trouble left for now: The CPT´s PFD is completely dark now after importing the bespoke events... as I´m not a programmer I have no idea for the moment what to do to bring it back to life again (All displays are on and brightness up to max...

    as I said: still learning

    Greetings
    Alex
  • Well some people just expect to push a button and it should magically work; then do not use the forum for support but email the "do not reply" email address (because the rules don't apply to them it seems) and wonder why they get no support.

I only keep an eye on the avsim forum, it would be useful to know if its worth watching out on some other forums?!

Not sure why it has gone dark. I will take a look and see if I can find out why.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve,
no need to investigate, I´ve restarted the sim and GIT several times and now the black scn is gone, things are just fine now!

Thanks for all your help, you are a great supporter! If you want to get mad you should carefully watch the x-plane.org forum... there is a big lot of work to do bc. people write stupid things like "no support" , "nothing works", "waste of money",... And posts like those kept me away from GIT for a long time which I now deeply regret! And I am surely not the only one!

And for all those functions - even updated permanently - the price is very correct in my eyes!

PollyPot rocks my world into new dimensions, got another 4 goflight modules today and can`t wait to install them

    With best greetings from Salzburg/Austria
    Alex
