customnavaids

You create a custom nav aid when the flight sim data and Our Airports data does not contain a nav aid needed on a chart.

There are multiple ways to create Custom Nav Aids:

Manually Entering the Details

If you have all the relevant information available, simply enter all the details in the left hand set of fields and then click the Save button.

Calculate Lat Long

Enter a VOR ICAO Ident, a Radial, and the Distance along the radial and then click the Calculate Latitude & Longitude button. Now enter the remaining details if applicable and click the Save button.

Calculate Lat Long Intersect

This is used to determine the intersect of two nav aids. The first nav aid and radial is entered in ICAO Ident A and Radial/Hdg A. The second nav aid can be defined by a radial or the distance from itself along the radial defined for the first nav aid. Enter ICAO Ident B and then either Radial/Hdg B or Distance B depending on what is to be calculated.Click the Calculate Latitude & Longitude button. Now enter the remaining details if applicable and click the Save button.

If the incorrect point has been selected when using Distance B, try calculating again with the Reciprocal A tick box, ticked or un-ticked.

Search openNav

This requires an internet connection to search online at http://www.opennav.com/. Simply enter the ICAO Ident and select the Type of the nav aid to be located and if found the left hand column of fields will be populated. Click the Save button.

Slaved Mag Var: Used only for VOR, VORDME nav aids. Indicated the magnetic variation the nav aid is aligned too.
