Our Airports

Navigational aid data from the flight simulator is complemented with data from Our Airports. If Our Airports change their website address or filenames for their downloads, you can change them here.

When the Positions tick box is ticked, this indicates that Our Airports data should be used for the latitude and longitude of nav aids instead of flight simulator data when possible.

The Mag Var tick box is used only when creating custom nav aids. When it is ticked this indicates that Our Airports data should be used for the slaved magnetic variation of VOR's. It also indicates that FS Area instead of the Actual Chart magnetic variation will be referenced.

The Misc tick box indicates that miscellaneous nav aid data such as name, elevation, frequency, will be used from Our Airports instead of flight simulator data when possible.

Options

The Accurate ILS tick box ensures that any references to an ILS nav aid is not rounded to the nearest whole number. This ensures that the flight path on the chart aligns with the ILS beacon images. When an ILS nav aid is referenced in the Direction Detail, the heading of the ILS is automatically inserted so long as the heading value is 0 when the ILS reference is entered.

The ILS DME Threshold tick box forces ILS DME calculations to start from the runway threshold instead of the centre of the runway.

Map Resolution determines how detailed the map should appear. Most PC's should cope with a medium setting. After changing this setting you will either need to reload the chart or restart the Nav Data Tool.

Search Radius determines how far from the airport in nautical miles, applicable nav aids will be accepted in various activates.

FSX Version determines what will be automatically entered into FS Directory if Auto Configure is ticked.

Defaults

Leg Time refers to the default leg time of a holding pattern.

Turn Radius is the default radius to be used in turns. A value of 0 means its automatically calculated.

Max Speed KIAS is the default speed of the aircraft when flying the chart. Its used for non deterministic Directions such as FlyHeadingUntilAltitude.

Circle Degrees Int is referenced by the Direction FlyCircle. The value indicates the interval around the circle to create a point. E.g. every 10 degrees. The bigger the number, the less points are created.

Vert Speed FPM is the default climb and descent rate of the aircraft when flying the chart. Its used for non deterministic Directions such as FlyHeadingUntilAltitude.

Files & Directories

FS Directory is the flight simulator directory to search to obtain data about the scenery installed. If Auto Configure is ticked the registry is scanned to find the directory based on the FS Version set in Options.

File Excludes is a comma separated list of tags. When scanning for scenery any filename containing any one of the tags will be skipped.

Dir Excludes is a comma separated list of tags. When scanning for scenery, any directory name containing any one of the tags will be skipped.
