VERY IMPORTANT

  • Ensure you can legally distribute what you have created. For example, if using images from the Internet, ensure you have the legal right to share and distribute them to others.
  • IF your creation comes with State Configurations or Snippets for specific aircraft and the aircraft names have been changed, set all the aircraft names used in your creation, back to their full normal names before you export. If you don't you will need to let users/customers know what they should change their aircraft names to, before they import your creation, otherwise it will be impossible to associate aircraft State Configurations and Snippets. The GeneralAircraftNames.json file, lists aircraft full names along with their shortened version.

Overview

You can export anything, other than built in Components, Modules, Device Panels and Device Panel Groups.

When exporting, all things that are required, which are not built in, will also be exported. For example, if exporting a Device Panel, all Modules and Components used on the Device Panel will also be exported.

Best Practice

  • Avoid Snippet Overrides on built in Snippets. Create your own instead. Although they will work OK, it may over write users own configurations when they import your creation.
  • Add some identifier at the end of your Snippet names so they are unique and will not over write users own Snippets when they import your creation.

Developers

if you are a Developer, ensure you have configured the necessary Developer Options on everything that will get exported.

Snippets are licensed against the top level licensed product, therefore if exporting at the Device Panel Group level, Snippets will not be editable.

A Component with "Inherit Licence" enabled, may inherit a Licence from a Device Panel or Device Panel Group if it first appears on a Module with no Licence during the export process.

If the exporting a licensed product, ensure all Components, Modules, Device Panels and Device Panel Groups that will be exported, have "Encrypt Files" enabled on them, otherwise your licensing will be compromised.

How To

  1. Load up the Component, Module, Device Panel or Device Panel Group you wish to export.
  2. If changed have been made, Select File then Save from the Menu.
  3. Select File, then Export from the Menu.
  4. Choose a directory and file name for the export file.
  5. The export file will be a zip file containing everything a user/customer needs to import your creation.
