MCP Pro +

Hi
Running P3Dv4, and when loading the PMDG 747, i only got zero's in the MCP Pro displays. When turning the knobs, it changes the values in the aircraft. The NGX 737 works perfectly fine. I also have an issue with the IDENTIFIER. Nothing happens when using this.
So what's wrong ?

  • Hi,

Read the FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve
Yes, i was using two USB 3 ports, but now i have changed back to USB 1/2. The problem still exists with Zeros on the MCP Pro for the PMDG 747 (NGX working fine)
Another problem now, after switching from USB3 to USB1/2, is that i can't re-program those buttons who was already programmed. In this case, P8 and T8. The LOG says "Simconnect Exeption Received : ERROR".
Is there maybe a programmed file i can delete, so i can re-program the buttons ?
My GIT version is 3.1.0.0, is there a new version i should download ?

    Brgds
    Tore
  • Yes 3.3.0.1 is the latest to download from your account.

3.4 will be out in a couple of days which resolves some P3Dv4 issues.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thanks Steve. But don't you have any comments to the other problems ?
  • Upgrade first and see what problems remain.

    Thanks
    Steve
  • PMDG NGX 737 not working for me, I'm missing anything? have P3D V4
  • There is a new version coming out today that fixes some issues with P3Dv4.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Even with new version 3.4.1, still not working
  • need help still not working with PMDG 737
  • The only thing I can recommend is to delete Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and go through these steps again: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

Please make sure you have no PMDG aircraft as your default flight.

The issue is the NGX is not sending any data to GIT and that has always been because of one of the items listed in the FAQ above.

    Best wishes
    Steve

    now what next

  • I think its time to uninstall and reinstall the NGX using the very latest installer from PMDG.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • DID that today, still no luck, very disappointed
  • This is very odd as the NGX is refusing to send any data to GIT.

Can we go to basics and test with the default beach baron. Load it up to the VC, start GIT and click FS Default on the MCP PRO tab. Quit GIT and then restart GIT. Does the MCP PRO work OK?

    Thx
    Steve
  • did load with Baron, loaded GIT with default, everything works
  • Try upgrading to P3D v4.1 and the latest PMDG updates out the other day.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • sorry but did that too
  • I'll have to do a fresh install at my end and see if I can re-create the issue.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • OK, I've done that and it worked first time with P3D v4.1 and the latest NGX.

Can you uninstall GIT and install it in C:\GoFlight and not in Program Files (x86) in case its a security issue of some sort. You will need to copy GFDev.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight into C:\GoFlight.

If that doesn't help, do the following so a console log is produced:

In Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files, edit (or create) the Simconnect.ini file so it looks like:

    [SimConnect]
    level=Verbose
    console=Yes
    file=C:\SimConnect%01u.Log
    file_max_index=9

Start GIT and P3D, load up the NGX and get to the VC. Then quit FSX. A log file will be created in C:\ (or many log files). Copy these and attach to this thread please.

    Thx
    Steve
  • edited October 2017
OK, having looked at the log there are no errors or exceptions, but the NGX or Simconnect is not sending the data to GIT.

I found the request being made by GIT to receive the data which showed no errors:
    1140.01972 [516, 18]RequestClientData:ClientDataID=1313306673, RequestID=100, DefineID=1313306674, Period=3, Flags=1, origin=0, interval=0, limit=0

But then there should be a continual stream of messages like this that indicate the NGX is transmitting the data to GIT.
    170.98997 [321] ClientData: RequestID=100 DefineID=1313306674 dwSize=816

There isn't a single message sent, so GIT cannot do anything. This indicates either:

    - A damaged Flight Sim / Simconnect installation
    - A damaged NGX installation
    - One of the issues raised in the FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html
    - A clash with another add-on (unlikely, but it may be worth disabling as much as possible [exe and dll] and trying again)

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve
Same here. PMDG 747 v3 last update.
    USB 2.0
i tryed all options including change windows from corporate to home edition.
No chances, only zeroes. I spent a two days and actualy very frustrated.
    Prepar3d 4.1
Can someone give me advice what to do?
  • All I can recommend is that you follow the steps discussed in this thread, particularly the points raised in the FAQ.

After that, produce a simconnect log and if its showing "RequestClientData:ClientDataID=1313306673, RequestID=100, DefineID=1313306674, Period=3, Flags=1, origin=0, interval=0, limit=0" and not showing multiple occurrences of "ClientData: RequestID=100 DefineID=1313306674 dwSize=816", then the issue is with either the aircraft or P3D installation. GIT cannot do anything unless the last message types are sent to it.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • I followed the steps discussed in this thread, particularly the points raised in the FAQ. But still nothing, will re-do a simconnect log later this week
  • where to get GoFlight Interface Tool for FSX, Prepar3D and SE now available (3.4.8.0)?
  • Just login to your account and redownload the software.

    Steve
  • another question about cannot make goflight tool working, does it having an impact if I have both prepar3D v3 and V4 ?
  • No, I have all the flight sims installed on one PC. I think you need to do a fresh install of P3D and PMDG.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • therefore I will loose all customise planes...
  • Its the only thing I can recommend as GIT is doing everything correctly (see the log comments), but P3D/Simconnect or PMDG is failing to respond. On the very few systems this kind of issue has occurred, a reinstall has fixed it.
