MSFS:PMDG - GIT problem

I suspect that GIT is detecting the new PMDG737 in MSFS and defaulting to the access, controls & limitations that were applicable with the P3D version.

The MSFS version doesnt use the PDMG SDK/DLL method of control. Instead, it seems to rely on LVARs and SimConnect events.

When loading up the MSFS PMDG & GIT, GIT disables the DETECTIVE button (just like the P3D version), except we need access to the DETECTIVE function to be able to detect LVARs and Events, and build custom code to be able to control this aircraft.

As noted in another thread here, the SimConnect status icon turns yellow and remains so. There are also numerous logged errors,
SimConnect: Exception Received: UNRECOGNIZED ID
SimConnect: Exception Received: DUPLICATE ID
SimConnect: Exception Received: OUT OF BOUNDS
SimConnect: Exception Received: ILLEGAL OPERATION
Send Control Data:Too many Retries

Is it possible to update MSFS GIT where it wont try to implement P3D PMDG controls and GIT restrictions on the MSFS version?

  • Hi

Sorry for not responding; I've been ill for the past month and only now just getting back into work.

Of course GIT will be updated to support all of PMDG's releases for FS2020.

I don't know yet, how much work it will be, it depends on how much the SDK has changed. I will be starting work on it over the next day or two.

    Best wishes

  • Update: Found a way to enable the SDK and have 3 greens. Will test with hardware tomorrow.

  • This is fantastic news, many thanks!

Would it be possible in the MSFS version to keep (and not disable) Detective button when PMDG 737 is detected?
Sometimes its handy to use and write very custom bespoke events for combinations that might not be covered with the in-built configs that GIT provides for PMDG aircraft.

  • Great news! With a few minor code tweaks, everything appears to be functioning OK with GoFlight gear. I will release it tomorrow as I need to update the installer to add the SDK options.

The new version of GIT will have the Detective functionality as its already available in the common code base developed for Virtual Flight Sim Hardware.

    Best wishes
