I have paid for the current version of the GoFlight Interface Tool for X-Plane 11 and I have used it quite a time..

Today, when starting the program, I got the message, that there is a new version available. That was all, the program, I paid for (as mentioned), immediately was closed. Tried to start the tool several times - always the same result.

Damned! You cannot force your customers to install a new version and threw them out, if they are not doing so! They payed for it! And damned, you are not giving a hint, where to pick up this new version and what to pay for it. This is disgusting.

  • Simply login to your account and download in the normal way as its always the latest version. You clearly have not done this.

    If you cannot engage without having a public meltdown, I suggest you need to seek a therapist! Just ask for help, there is no need for toxic behaviour on this forum! Any more of this nonsense and I will ban you!

    sorry for my rough tone yesterday night - I really was upset.

    But beyond that my complaint is still valid:

    1. First of all - and this I am telling you as a practicing German lawyer - you cannot request your customers to install a new version of the tool and at the very same moment make the current version inoperative without any explanation and - this is essential - without customer's approval. This is illegal under German law and I am sure, that it is illegal in the U.K. either.

    2. Don't you think, it would have been a good idea to tell your customers together with the intitial info about the new version, where to find it and how to bring it to life - instead of leaving people alone just with an inoperative tool and a bunch of error warnings like "object reference not set", "Application halted ( a very long text message) and "GIT does not function any longer"?
    As you know, other customers like SebDev today announced the same problems here in the forum.

    3. According to my account, this morning I had 6 downloads of GIT XPlane.zip left. After downloading the new version (same name) just one time and as advised a few minutes ago, I have now left 2 of them instead of 5 - why?

    Anyway - the GIT is now operating again, thanks for that.

  • Well I don't think it's intended that user are forced to update, but that there is an issue with GIT once it shows a message that there is an update available (which is a good thing to notice us that way).
    I had that issue also with version 2.0.16.3 and 3.0.0.

    When the new version isn't working as expected, this didn't allow me to do a roll-back. Lucky me, Steve was very fast to fix the issue, I he wouldn't be available for the coming days, I also would have been upset no longer being able to enjoy my GoFlight modules when flying Xplane.

    But I guess Steve will need to look at the error message "object reference not set" and the "Application halted" to avoid this annoying behavior in the future.
