Interface tool for X-Plane 11 asks to update - then fails

Hi,

Today, the GoFlight Interface Tool for X-Plane 11 (I don't have X-Plane 12) stopped working. When I launch it, it says a new version is available and then throws an error message "object reference not set to an instance of an object". These messages keep looping and the software won't launch.

I've taken a look at my account on this website and see there's also a version for X-Plane 12 I can download. Is this the so-called updated version for X-Plane 11? Should I download and install it even if it says it's for X-Plane 12?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

SebDev

  • Were you prompted for the plugin location during setup? Is the GIT plugin time stamped 2/10/2002 18:05?

  • Hi,

I got prompted when launching the interface to use it during a flight. I've only launched the setup because the program had asked me to update.

I'm attaching the errors that keep looping. So yesterday I performed a flight with no issues. Then I tried to perform a flight and got these error messages upon starting the interface tool. I then reinstalled the interface tool (X-Plane 11 version), but the same error messages keep appearing.

I am unsure about where I can find the plugin timestamp, so please advise.

    Thanks!

  • The application halted error is due to corrupt settings file. Delete C:\Users\\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software

Install the latest version of GIT, but manually install the plugin into resources\plugins. Its now available as a separate download in your account downloads.

Steve I don't think that this is due to a corrupt settings.
I got it also after deleting the C:\Users\\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software folder.
I got it with 2.0.16.3 and 3.0.0 as soon as you get a message saying there is an update available.
As soon as I installed the update, the message was gone. So I guess somethings goes wrong when that popup is shown.
  • Hi,

I'll try it out and get back here as soon as I can.

  • Hi,

Sorry, but I'm still getting an error:

  • Correction: after clicking on OK on all the messages for two loops, it seems to work. However, can this trigger a console window?

Or is this due to something else?

This is a corrupt settings file. Delete the directory C:\Users\\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software and try again.

  • Hi,

I did that already, but the result was the same. I'll try again next time and get back to you.
