Wrong algorithm for aircraft name detection in GoFlight Interface Tool

Hello!
I have most 3rd party planes installed in separate folders, so i have in fsx.cfg such lines:
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\AirplanesAdd
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\AirplanesTraf
when i load a plane, that is in this folders, GoFlight Interface Tool determine aircraft name as 'FSX'
i was trying to figure out what is going on and moved files from  SimObjects\AirplanesAdd to SimObjects\Airplanes\Add and changed fsx.cfg to
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Airplanes\Add
and after that Interface Tool detected name as 'Add'

I think wrong algorithm was used, you should get last directory component of aircraft path but not first after SimObjects\Airplanes.

    Hi,

    The algorithm isn't wrong, you have actually broken FS X standards by manually moving aircraft to sub directories.

    I'll add the issue to the bug list but it won't be a priority.

    Yes, Steve, you are right about non-standart aircraft placement but not only me installs aircrafts on separate folders, it helps a lot in case of sim reinstall etc.

    I really never seen any documents that prohibits this, and FSX allows it without any issues.

    It would be better if program will be allow using of file mask or regex for aircraft name detection.

    Thanks

    Version 2.1.3.0 should have fixed this.

    Hi, Steve!

    Thanks for fix but it not works completely as expected.

    You are use name of air-file instead of directory but after some thoughts I decided that your way is really better, because copy air-file with another name is simplier than copy whole aircraft folder for use with another aircraft's panel.

    And I found following bugs:
    path C:\gms\MSFSX\SimObjects\AirplanesAdd\Douglas_C-47_V2\Douglas_DC3_v1.2.air
    detects as Douglas_DC3_v1
    path C:\gms\MSFSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\B737_800\Boeing737-800.air
    detects as 800
    path C:\gms\MSFSX\SimObjects\AirplanesAdd\POSKY Boeing 777-200 FSX\Boeing 777-200ER Rolls Royce-Trent 895.air
    detects as 895

    with best regards,
    Alex

    Thanks for the feedback, I'll look at the code and find out what is triggering the regex match to fail.

    Hi Alex,

    I have had a number of people reporting problems with the name detection so I'm rolling it back to the old algorithm for the time being.

  • Thanks Steve. I have studied the manuals now and almost have them memorized but to no avail. The VSKYLABS C-47 does the flaps action like the real plane. The flap handle in the middle does nothing. Flap handle up or down, the flaps move as long as the handle is up or down. I cannot make it do that. Gear and trim work fine but those are pretty much straight forward. LGT2 is the device. I am determined to learn this software.
    Thanks so much.

  • Assuming its sending the flaps up and down events continuously, use the REPEAT action.
