GIT with P3Dv5 and PMDG 737NGXu: GIT frequently freezes upon starting

Hello support team,

for about 1 week I do have the problem that the GIT works well and freezes upon starting after I have used for about 2-3 times. I than have to delete the configuration file and re-program. It again works and freezes again upon start after I have used (started) the programm 2-3 times (normally after a new PC- and P3Dv5 start) and only can get it to work again by re-programming the GIT.
I had this problem in the past if one of the GF-devices had changed the device-no. Normally I just restart the PC and the GF-modules would be back in its original order. This time none of the GF-modules have changed the device-no., everything seems to be fine. I'm also programming 3 different Joysticks but can't find any reason why they should cause any problem.
What could be the reason or how and where I can find an information about the possible cause?

Thank you for your support.

  • Firstly, perform a backup of Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool so you can restore from the backup instead of re-programming GIT when it happens.

I suspect the config files are getting corrupt. When it occurs again, zip up Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and attach it to this thread so I can examine the files. You can then restore from your backup.

    Best wishes

  • Enclosed I send you the last non-working folder in a ZIP file.
And thanks for the hint regarding saving the last working folder as a backup instead of programming from scrap.
    Looking forward to your feedback.

  • The files look fine. Are you sure these files were breaking GIT? If so, can you edit the GIT icon properties and add /log at the end of the Target value (after the quotes). This will create a log.txt file in Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool. Upload the log file when GIT next hangs.

I'm suspecting one of you joysticks may be causing the problem since this seems to be the most recent changes you have made.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Thanks for the hint regarding the latest Joystick. That seemed to be the problem. I know changed the Joystick and it seems to work now. Lets cross fingers.
