Which are the conditions for GIT to detect a USB Gaming device as Joystick?

Hello team,
I do have 2 devices which are deteced by Windows 11 as USB Gaming device but are not detected by GIT as Joystick for programming. How can I use these 2 devices in GIT for programming? What are the pre-conditions for GIT to detect a device as 'Joystick' for programming?
Thank you for your support.

  • To add more details.
I programmed a Throttle from Throttletek with GIT, as it was detected as Joystick.
My new Throttle from FlightsimPM is not detected by GIT as Joystick and I'm not able to program the new Throttle.
What would be the reason that the new Throttle is not detected by GIT (but detected by Windows 11 as USB Gaming device) and what can I do to make it available to GIT for programming?
    Thank you for your support.

  • I would imagine only GoFlight hardware can be recognised by GIT.

  • No, that is not the case.
If you activate ‚Joysticks‘ in the GIT you can also programm any Joystick button.
But the funny thing is, that it doesn‘t detect all USB gaming devices, only some. That is why I would like to understand what are the pre-conditions for GIT to detect an USB gaming device as Joystick and what I can do to activate an USB gaming device as Joystick in GIT that is not autmatically detected.
    Thanks for you support.
  • A question only Steve can answer I guess. Good luck!

  • GIT does detect DirectX joysticks, but the odd one needed to be hard coded. I guess the one you have will need this. I'm currently restoring my dev environment following a screw up by me restoring a failed raid disk. So give me a week or so and I will work with you to add support.

What flight sim are you using so I can determine what to build?

Also, in the GIT log does it list the device you need to get working?

    Thx
    Steve
  • Presently I'm using P3Dv5. But I want to switch to MSFS in the next months. So at the end it will be relevant for both simulators.
I checked the LOG, and the required devices are enlisted as 'Supp Device'.

  • Ok, can you copy and paste the Supp Device log entries here for me.

    Thx

  • Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been available for a few weeks. That info should be sufficient to add support.
