ERROR messages after registering

Just purchased this for FSX on Win 10. Have Goflight MCP Pro. Goflight software brings up the panel, but doesn't run.

I have installed FSUIPCv4 installed. PFC and FSUIPC show in the virtual cockpit.

I gambled purchasing this software. Wish there were a demo version to see if it worked.

  • Firstly don't get confused with the GoFlight Interface Tool (GIT) and GoFlights own driver software - they are two different things and I only support GIT. Most of your screens shots are of GFConfig which is GoFlights own driver software.

    GIT does not need FSUIPC.

The error message is indicating a problem with your FSX install - it cannot locate Simconnect which should be installed by FSX. Because the version number its looking for is very low, I suspect you are not running the SP2 or XPack version of FSX which is required. Can you verify what version of FSX you are running and let me know.

  • I purchased the DVD version on eBay as a new purchase. I don't know if the service pack was came with the disk. Today I purchased and downloaded the FSX Steam version. Not sure if SP is installed. I can research that on Steam. I need FSUIPC for PFC flight controls. They are working fine. I just went through the installation of GIT and registered. Ran after reboot and got the same Simconnect error. Do I need to remove the old Goflight drivers? I do see the MCP Pro displayed.

    Thanks Steve
  • There was no need to buy the Steam version as the service packs can be downloaded and installed for free. If you can get a refund from Steam it may be worth doing.

Whatever version of FSX you decide to use, please only have one installed so I can be sure we are working with a particular version and you are not accidently running a different version during each test (yes I have had people do this).

    The GoFlight drivers can stay.

The following should have happened automatically during FSX install so something is corrupt somewhere. We can attempt to install the missing files manually. Go to your FSX installation directory (use Steam FSX since its the latest version) and you should have an SDK folder in it. Open the SDK folder, then open the Core Utilities Kit folder. Next open the SimConnect SDK folder and then the lib folder. In the lib folder you will find a file called SimConnect.msi. Now run this msi file on your computer. Next go back to the SimConnect SDK folder, and open the LegacyInterfaces folder. In this folder you will find two folders called FSX-RTM, and FSX-SP1. Each of these folders has a Simconnect.msi files in them. You must also run these two files on your computer. Now try running GIT again.

I was able to find where the SDK folder was. I made the changes you recommended, still using the SFX SE version. I was going to start over with the Deluxe Addition, but then I would have had to find the needed SP1, SP2 files.
I am getting closer. The attached images may help.
I have FSUIPC4 running for my PFC hardware. That is working. I ran your GIT FSX SE. It finally brought up the GIT box, but would not recognize the MCP Pro. I ran the Goflight drivers and ran the Goflight Config. It eventually showed the MCP Pro. Ran the reset on GIT and all 3 lights show green. I could get the MCP Pro at one time to light up with all dashes across the display, but I can never get any numbers except when I first plug in the MCP Pro and it does its self-check. I can't figure out how to activate the MCP Pro to display the MCP data like it should. Years ago, when FSX first came out, it worked fine, but been so long I can't figure out what I am missing.
  • When using GIT you need to enable and configure the MCP Pro in the GIT MCP Pro tab whenever you first use a new aircraft - after that the config is remembered for that aircraft.

Get the aircraft selected and showing the virtual cockpit. Goto the MCP Pro tab and click the Default FS button which will configure the MCP Pro with default settings that work with basic FSX aircraft. Then ENABLE the MCP Pro in the GIT tab via the dropdown. Everything should work then.
