21st November: A new version of the GoFlight Interface Tool for FSX/FSXSE/P3D is now available.

The Log is showing "SimConnect: Exception Received: OUT_OF_BOUNDS"

Hallo,

The FAQ is very clear about OUT_OF_BOUNDS, I think I know what to to, but perhaps I mis something. I almost dear to ask:

I have my dll.xml in C:\Users\dick\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2
It got the right lines, So I think:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>CMeteoXml</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>.\CMeteoXml.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>GoFlight Module Interface</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GoFlight Interface Module.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

And still I have "SimConnect: Exception Received:  OUT_OF_BOUNDS".

Who can help me to make this program work on my PC?

Thanks,
Dick

  • Hi Dick,

    Sometimes this error appears regardless of the module not running. Have you tried Detective to see if that works OK?

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your reaction.
    Detective is grey, it is disabled.
    And suddenly today I don't have the bound errors with the PMDG. I still have the bound errors with the Bonanza aircraft. So it is not stable yet.

    The MCP advanced give different numbers then the 737 and Default FS, import eand export are also gray. See attached file.

    And there is also another error see below.
    I hope you can give me some advise. Thanks so far,
    Dick

  • The errors don't necessary signify a problem.

    Does detective work with the Bonanza? Detective will not work with the NGX and 77X and the SDK is used instead.

    If numbers are incorrect, check GFConfig and ensure compatible add-on has been selected for the MCP.

  • Steve,
    Detective does not work with Bonanza or other planes. With Bonanza (and S550) I get the "Out of bounds" errors, while NGX don't give those errors. Strange.

    In GFConfig I have the MCP adv on set default (FS Default). Is that what you mean with compatible add-on?

    Dick
  • Hi Dick,

    If you use FS Default make sure no Functions are assigned otherwise it will clash with GIT. Alternatively us the Project Magenta setting.

    Detective is disabled when the Goflight Interface Module is not loaded or the aircraft does not have its cockpit visible.

  • Hi Steve,

    I am getting exactly the same problem as described above. Have tried 2 clean installs of v2.1.15.0 and get OUT_OF_BOUNDS error, all other GFiT options such as detective are greyed out.

    Reverted back to 2.1.14.2 and all seems to be working again

    Regards

    Mark

  • Thanks Mark, looks like a bug has been introduced.

  • Hi Steve,

    In GFConfig I set all key assignments from all the modules to (No Selection). Correct?

    And if I understand Mark, I should install v2.1.14.2 and then is the problem perhaps solved. Thanks Mark.
    If true, where can I find that version.

    Thanks,
    Dick
  • Hello Steve,

    Perhaps you did not read the question I wrote (I forgot the "?").

    Is the problem solved with the older version and if true, where can I download that version??

    Dick
  • Hi Dick,

    Yes that's correct.

    I assume so, but only two people have reported the problem so far. I don't keep the old versions. You'll have to ask on the forum if someone can send it to you or wait for me to track down the bug and do a new release.

  • Hi Steve,

    I'm getting exactly the same error with v2.1.15.0, both in FSX and Prepa3d v2. I've tried all sorts but can't figure out what's wrong. What could possibly be causing this?

    Thanks,

    Carlos
  • I suspect the X-Plane code has introduced a bug - still haven't tracked it down. Stay with the old version if you can.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • I haven't got it anymore! Does anyone else have a copy of it? If someone could upload a link I'd really appreciate it

    Thanks,

    Carlos
  • Can everyone with this bug, list their Goflight hardware and if you have joysticks in GIT enabled see if the bug goes away by unticking Enable Joysticks in the settings tab.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Didn't work for me Steve but thanks anyway, it was worth a go. I don't have joysticks enabled in GIT btw. As for Goflight hardware I've got an rp-48, p-8,  t-8, gf-46, gf-166 and an LGT.
  • Did you install the 32bit version?

    Thx

    Steve

  • No, I installed the x64 version, shall I install the 32 bit one as well?
  • Yes, the Goflight Interface Module is a 32bit C++ application.

    Thx

    Steve

  • It worked!! Thanks Steve, you're the man!
  • Great. It looks like I accidently recompiled the module with Visual Studio 2015 and didn't include the 2015 runtime in the installer.

    I'll update the installer and get a new release out at the weekend.

    Thanks

    Steve

  • New version of GIT uploaded which fixes this problem.

  • Hi Steve,

    I still have problems with my hardware modules: MCP-Adv,166A, T8 (2), P8, 46, 48 and LGT.
    Windows 10; P3D 2.5; Goglight 2.2.5
    I have installed Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 32 bit as well
    I ran GFwindows8Fixer, also as Administrator
    I've installed GIT 2.1.16

    The hardware is working now but without lights or numbers. So I cannot see if a switch is on or off and I cannot see the radio sequences.

    With the NGX I have still no detective (grey). And the GIT lights are green.

    I don't know what else I should do to make it work properly.

    Thx
    Dick

  • Hi Dick,

    The lights and displays will not show anything until you configure them. Have you pressed the FS Default button on the MCP Adv and enabled the device for example.

    The NGX and 77X do not use Detective as the PMDG SDK's are built in - this is why its disabled.

    Best wishes

    Steve
