X-Plane again

Just found your Software and heard that X-Plane support is finally on its way. The only question I have at the moment ist how do I Install, and where do I download the Beta? Usually under X-Plane its just Putting the Plugin in the Plugins Folder? Is it the same here, or do I have to do the messy installing like on FSX?

  • Hi Pete,

You can download it on the product page on the right hand side. Its an installer and will manage everything for you.

Note that you need FSX installed at the moment due to FSX code still in place whilst X-Plane support is being developed.

  • Thanks for the very fast answer. That kills it at the moment, as I dont have a MFS simulator installed. Somewhere there is a MFS 2004 lying around, but before I mess up my maschine by installing something I won´t need later, I prefer to wait. Any news as to when it will be all x-plane without any MFS?
    Greetings from Germany,
    Capt.Pete.
  • Hi Pete,

You need FSX, MS 2004 will not help. Hopefully the X-Plane version will be finished before Christmas.

  • Is x-plane still alive?

  • It is. I haven't had very much time to spend on the Development of GIT for any platform. That should change soon, so bear with me.

    Thx

    Steve

  • no longer available
ok thats death of goflights last hope, a very sad day
  • It's back up again.
  • i thought that you have stopped working on the InterfaceTool
  • I yanked it last night because of comments made to me by a certain company. I've calmed down having slept on it.

  • Very glad you had a very good sleep the other night Steve.
You are our only chance of getting our GF equipment working with add on aircraft.

Keep up the good work it is much appreciated.

    Cheers

  • My update for my machine.
X-plane, latest beta. Win 10.  20 GF modules and using your 0_1_2_0 beta.
Dug out my old FSX back up and reloaded.  Were using Win7 but had a load of troubles and figured easier to try Win10 than go thru the performance of reloading Win7 from scratch.

Win10 loaded great, runs great, didn't need to upgrade any of the old win 3.1 drivers <G> for old programmes I still use in the fltsim world.
    BUT
GFlight spat the dummy. Using the XPGF for GF half the modules will not work those that did had their lights working. Mainly code 10, not enough controller resources for USB devices.
Many hours later after researching the net.  Disable the XHCI in BIOS and I have every USB device working again.
    BUT
No leds or displays light up except when starting machine when it searches for USB's etc.
I have every GF device connected via self powered external hubs.
Time to revert to your programme again. (used it all the time in FSX)

Seems like the EHCI controller won't handle the LED and displays for some reason, reset the XHCI for USB 3.0 mode and they all work but only with half the units.

Status. keeping Win10 and running without the XHCI ( aircraft panels have displays) strange thing is that only with your programme can I have the GF-166 running and it's display works fine !!!!

    Maximus V11 Hero mother board, I7-4790K @4.5GHZ, GTX 980 Nvid, 42" screen. power supply 1100w <G>

Looking forward to your future work.

    Cheers

  • Don't use your Goflight hardware on USB 3.0 ports, use 2.0 ports or get yourself a 2.0 hub. Goflight will tell you as much if you ask over there. They may or may not work. It's a crap shoot.

  • What Slayer said as well as GoFlight provide GFWindows8Fixer.cmd to fix the LED problem. Run this as Administrator and everything should be OK.

  • Disable the XHCI allows the USB 3.0 hubs to run as backward compatible USB hubs.
New Mother boards mainly have USB's 3.0 like mine and only 2 older compatible ports, not good to daisy chain everything off just the 2 ports..

Thanks Steve, made my day, GFWindows8Fixer.cmd did the trick  !!!!!!

    Cheers
  • Just to let all you X-Plane users know, I now have a version of GIT that has all the SimConnect/FSX code removed/replaced and a 75% functioning Detective. Getting close now!

  • Sounding good looking forward to it.
Present ver working but am unable to start engines with the GF P8 buttons
Will we be able to make the button hold while held  ??
Button action, tried repeat and the custom value is not available.
Or am I missing something here  ??

    Thanks for your efforts Steve.
