GFIT SimConnect : No connection to FSX

Hello all,
after installing GFIT it seems, that there is no connection to FSX - the yellow lamp is on, the others are green, and all the tabs are greyed except the LOG and SETTING- Tab; so, it's not possible, to make any programming ...what's wrong?

regards

Chris

  • Hi Chris,

A yellow light is fine. The other tabs become enabled once the FSX is in sim mode i.e. a virtual cockpit is showing.

If the tabs do not enable when in sim mode, check that the GoFlight Interface Module.dll is loading in dll.xml (see FAQ).

  • Hello Steve,
    thank you for your input - I de-installed and re-installed all that GF stuff into a single folder and now everything is working fine;
for me with no deep knowledge in programming: is there a tutorial which shows, how to assign a switch or a encoder ? I want to assign all the light switches to a GF T8 and the NAV1/2 to the GF 166.

Best regards and many thanks for your support

    Chris
  • Hi Chris,

There is an online user guide under the Support menu with step by step instructions and examples.

  • Hi Steve,
I tried the example with the toggle beacon lights and my expectation was, by typing in all the variables, that at the end I can use the toggle in the airplane for that event ( beacon lights on/off ) - but nothing happens. The Toggle at the P8 module is not assigned, neither FSUIPC nor GFConfig tool.
I tried it with the majestic D8 and a piper beech duke.
So, what I want to achieve is to assign switches from the aircraft to T8/P8 modules.
Is there a mistake I made?
    Best regards
    Christoph
  • Have you enabled the device in GIT. By default they are disabled.

  • Attach your config file for me to look at (settings.xml located in My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool)

    Thx

  • Hi Steve,
the upload of the file does not work - can you gibe me an email to send it to

    Hi Chris,

For the P8 just use LANDING_LIGHTS_TOGGLE with NOTHING as the button action.

For the T8 use LANDING_LIGHTS_ON for the ON Button Event and LANDING_LIGHTS_OFF for the OFF Button Event.

For both device types the Light Data should be LIGHT_LANDING, ON and 1.

Try it with a default aircraft such as the Beech Baron. If that works OK but not with advanced add-on aircraft then the developer has moved away from standard simconnect events and you will need to use Detective to create Bespoke Events.

There are some pinned guides in the forum on creating Bespoke Events for the Q400.

Remember each config is aircraft specific so setting things up for one aircraft does not mean it will work in others.

  • Hi Harold,

Have you read the user guide here:

  • hi steve, thank you for your quick reply, yes I read it,
but neither did anything ... you have possibility to take control remotely on my computer?
  • What GoFlight hardware do you have? Have you enabled the devices in the GoFlight Interface Tool?
  • Yes I did it,
PD3 and FSX are ENABLED in goflight interface.
and i have flashing green: Pmdg 737,
    Simconnect/Fsx :Fixed Yellow
Goglight module :green Ok this one
  • The Exception can usually be ignored.

What Goflight hardware do you have?

    Thx

    Steve

  • hi steve,
I have : MCP,EFIS,GEAR LGT II, RADIO PANEL, MULTI MODULE DISPLAY, MESM,
MOUSE PUSH BUTTON RORATY,  GF THROTTLE TQ6 ADV, PUSH BUTTON MOUDULE
  • The MCP, EFIS, LGT and MESM are all preconfigured once enabled and should work automatically - are they? If not, you need to ensure that you are using the very latest version of the 737 as GIT is not compatible with the older versions. If you have the boxed version you need to get an update from Aerosoft.

Make sure you have "Enable for FSX" and/or "Enable for Prepar3D" ticked in the Settings tab.

    Steve

  • hi steve, I have the latest version of the PMDG 737,
and I am assured me that FSX / P3D is enabled in the tab menu.
Yes MCP and EFIS LGT and MEST are configured.
This is especially the RADIO PANEL MULTI MODEL DISPLAY I can not seem to make it work.
How did your variables to display the 737?
I can not see FSUIPC and P3D the same time
I read somewhere that there is an offset 7377/77 pmdg of history.
  • The GF46 is pre-configured. You can change the settings though. Does the pre-configuration not give you sufficient insight?

The events and variables for the 737 are all built into the drop down lists. The format is described here:

    http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/19-operating/36-configuring-goflight-devices-additional-information-pmdg-ngx.html

You do not need to use FSUIPC offsets as GIT provides all this built in.

    Steve

  • oh okay, but  Steve, Should I slide 737's SDK folder in a directory of p3D somewhere for variables? because if the GF 46 is pre-set we just give him all the variables as we want?
  • You don't have to do anything with the SDK, its all built into GIT.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • do I understand that there just has to assign the functions / command that you want in the GIT based on modules, and everything happens automatically? I speak for the PMDG 737/777.
  • edited April 2016

The MCP PRO, MCP, LGT/LGT II (buttons only), MESM, EFIS, GF46 are all automatically configured. The GF166 can be configured automatically by choosing one of the default options on its tab (either Radios, NAV, ADF). All the other modules need to be configured in GIT. See these examples: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/19-operating/37-configuring-goflight-devices-examples-pmdg-ngx.html
