  • Call me super cautious but just to confirm.... I continue to install this update over top of what I have installed already??? When I open the .zip file there is just an .exe file. Maybe it's just me but always like a little readme, just to let me know what to do. Don't want to lose anything. Got a lot of hours into setting things up!
    Thanks

  • I always export all my configs and make a copy of the settings.xml for safekeeping. I don't have the commercial version but I just updated over the top of the donationware version with the noncommercial one  the  and it works. You can also uninstall the old version , it will not delete your settings.xml file then when you reinstall the new version will pickup on your settings.

  • Thanks for the response! So I have the donationware version that I have been using for months and I could have update it without a purchase?
Nevertheless, I have purchased the commercial version with a voucher to help out and I can install it over the donationware?
I knew about backing up the Goflight Interface Tool folder in the Documents folder. What configs should I be backing up?
Are you going to make your Q400 radios set up available now that they can be exported/imported?
    Thanks for your help.

  • - No , you had to purchase a new version it wasn't a free upgrade anymore
    - Should be able to update right over the top of the old one
    - Yes exactly a backup is always good, I've lost days of work on an accident or P3D crash taking out my GIT files somehow, copying that whole folder would do the trick but I also always do an export of the hardware I'm working on profiles for too so If I screw something up I can go back to a previous version. Remember there is no "save" button in GIT so if you messed up your profile without doing an export prior , you are stuck with it and will have to spend time figuring out where you went wrong.
-I'll provide radio profiles soon, there is a small bug that is keeping them from working and I don't want to send it out and make more tech support requests for Steve. Once that gets fixed I'll add them to the Q400 profile download.

  • Hi Dave,

Always take a regular copy of My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and keep several copies in case one of them doesn't work. Everything is stored in that folder.

    Best wishes

    Steve
