IXEG 737 MCPPro + EFIS final - Requires GIT 1.4 or later

Now that we can use the IXEG without crashes here's a new version of my profile with EFIS and MCPPro support.

Please let me know if you run into any probs, thanks.

  • Corrected a couple of issues I found while flying:

    5-17-16

-MCP now turns on and off with proper bus, so if you are cold and dark the MCP will be OFF
-Fixed Alt Hld light not working
-Altitude rotary incrementing too slow CW

If you had the previous version no bespoke events were changed , just the MCP profile.

  • This doesn't seem to work for me.

When I import B733_GFMCPPRO.xml I get the error:

Failed to Load Configuration Data for Device GFDEVHWTYPE_GFMCPPRO
  • edited May 2016

Did you import the Bespoke Events first via Detective?

    Best wishes

    Steve

P.S. The FAQ has the details on correctly importing config files: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/goflight-interface-tool-x-plane/33-installation/96-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

  • Got it to load, it appears that that the efis is crashing xp, first was related to xpuipc plugin and the second crash was xplm_plugin. Will move to MCP to see what happens.
  • Programed FMC, hit the flt dir left switch, crashed. I do have ver 1.4. In the log it said that it could not load a bunch of 733 data refs.

  • Tryed again, first turned on flt dir, worked like a charm. or, possibly I may not have been in the 3d command look, with the 3 screens its hard to tell sometimes.
  • Hmm strange did you load the bespoke events first?

The other thing is if you have Dataref editor installed you have to remove it.

I don't use XUIPC so cant comment on that but i do know that XUIPC wasn't compatible to the IXEG when it first released. They may have a patch for it now.(XUIPC)

  • Working on an update to include NAV and COM radios for GF-166's so that they will work like the aircraft does.

Also improving the way the altitude rotary works so it doesn't increment  by 10 ft  and adding bank selector to the heading knob with new push-rotate function.

  • Correct, I did not remove the Data ref tool. Will try again. Thanks
  • As soon as I turned the range knob on the efis, it crashed xp. Log stated that it was because of gizmo64 plugin.MCP works fine
  • Strange.. Have you updated to the 1.5 version of software that was released today and possibly the new drivers from goflight too?

I can re-export everything on my end again here and see if that fixes it for you too. I'll do that quick and put it up here again and see if that helps.

It almost sounds like you have the older version of the software or an old plugin left in XPX , try looking in resource /plugins and right click the file and pick properties to see the version after you update to the newer softrware.

Please try this version and see if it helps , you will get a few improvements to the MCP as well, see the readme. I'll release the radios later.

Please open detective and remove all the old bespoke events first before doing anything else (big red X lower right corner) After that you will also need to reimport the events into detective, then do the MCP and EFIS profiles too.

Anyone else that wants this feel free to try, I'm especially interested if anyone else has an EFIS and can check if it's working too. I just did a flight to KMSP and it woked fine the whole flight.

  • Hi Rdegle,

Gizmo is a very "crashy" program. I would remove all your plugins except the GIT Plugin. Verify the date of the GIT Plugin xpl files are 16/5/2016 and update to GIT 1.5. Prove that everything works OK, then reintroduce a few plugins at a time until the crashes start and then you will find which plugins are not Gizmo compatible.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • I want to say i had a problem with autogate plugin. It was doing something weird with the datarefs.
    Steve McNitt
  • I will give it a shot, thanks. Let you know

  • The gitplugin is dated 5-1-16, where would I find a newer one?
  • edited May 2016
Download the new version of software from your account here. You have an older plugin. Mine is dated 5-14-16

From the homepage go to the shop, it's under my account after you login
    Steve McNitt
  • I have downloaded 1.5, but I am not finding the latest plugin.
  • You have to install it the plugin is installed as part of the software
    Steve McNitt
  • Ok I will look around to get the right one in xp/resources/plugins

  • Steve, would you mind sharing your plugin, the oly one I have is dated 5-1-16, still chasing my tail.

    Thanks

    Jeff

  • Delete the GIT plugin folder from your X-plane/resources/plugins folder, then install the 1.5 software again. I did have one occasion where the files weren't getting updated but either deleting that folder or uninstalling the old version and installing the new one fixed it.

I'm not sure it's allowed to share files from the install unless Steve gives the go ahead.
    Steve McNitt
  • I did that, but I still need a plugin for it to connect, the 5/1/16 ver is the only I have. I only gor that reading forums. Does the plugin come with the software? if so I can't find it.
  • Rdegle,

If you have multiple versions of XPlane installed the plugin can get installed in the wrong version of XPlane?

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Here are the files
  • Thank you

  • That was the ticket, woorks great
  • Glad you got it sorted. I'd keep an eye on it in the future when you do software updates.

    Okay,

I finally got this working with the latest version of GIT. All seems well (on the MCP at least). Will test the EFIS tomorrow. :)
