GoflightInterfacemodule.dll
Was going to update to commercial version this morning but wanted to follow Steve's and slayers' suggestions to back up files first.
Went to fire up FSX and while it was loading got an error message:
"FS has detected a problem with a 3rd party software program" and specified the GoflightInterfacemodule.dll
This is a first for me. Have never had any problems with the software. I assume that somehow the .dll file is corrupted.
For a next step, should I solve this issue first or just go ahead and update to the new software and see if that solves the problem? Will a new GoflightInterfacemodule.dll overwrite this one during the update?
Guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!
Dave

Hi Dave,
It will but this issue is most likely resolved by the second but last item in the FAQ: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html
Best wishes
Steve
Did as instructed and still get the error on startup and I notice that when I open up GIT I get two greens but simconnect/fsx is yellow. Rebooted as well after regedit but no luck.
What can I try next??
Thanks
Dave
The yellow LED doesn't necessarily mean a problem. When it goes Red you need to worry. I would do a re-install. If that doesn't fix it then you didn't complete the FAQ option correctly. It can only be one of these two things to resolve the issue.
Best wishes
Steve.
Double checked the regedit and I did delete the right entry. Then did an install of the new commercial version and presto I'm back in business.
Triple "A" customer support as usual.
Thanks!
Dave
Well today when I fired up my sim for the first time, the same error message reappeared:
"FS has detected a problem with a 3rd party software program" and specified the GoflightInterfacemodule.dll
I followed the same steps again by removing the file from the registry as explained in the FAQ's. Didn't solve the problem so I reinstalled GIT commercial 2.2.4.1. Still didn't solve the problem.
So... I uninstalled GIT completely. Then pursuant to my other thread I updated goflight driver to 2.26 as suggested. I reinstalled GIT.
Fired up the sim and got same error message, I bypassed the error and let FSX load. Then tried to start GIT. Got a red light for goflight, green for Simconnect, and grey for the third light.
I'm at a loss now.
Help! :-)

Grasping at anything!
Thanks

Hi Dave,
Uninstall GIT and the GoFlight Drivers. Install all the software/drivers into C:\GoFlight. Use 2.26.5 drivers. Check the registry and then try again.

Steve
THANKS so much!
Dave
"FS has detected a problem with a 3rd party software program" and specified the GoflightInterfacemodule.dll
I checked the registry and removed the appropriate line again as per the instructions. Didn't help.
Uninstalled GFConfig and GIT.
Reinstalled GFConfig directly under C:/ then reinstalled GIT. Checked the registry again to ensure the line had not reappear.
Get the same error when I ran FSX.
Don't know if it makes any difference but in the same Layers folder of the registry I see the following (Have FSX on it's own drive F:\);
C.\Program Files (x86)\Goflight\GFConfig.exe REG_SZ RUNASADMIN
F:\Program files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight simulator X\fsx.exe REG_SZ HIGHDPIAWARE
F:\Program files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight simulator Xfsx.exe REG_SZ RUNASADMIN
The only thing I did since everything was working last night was to update the ORBX libraries.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Delete both the FSX entries. It may be worth editing dll.xml and putting the GIT Module as the first entry.
Best wishes
Steve
You're over my head now. Where's the dll.xml file?
Will try again with the two fsx files deleted from registry.
The version of GIT I should be installing is GoFlightInterfaceTool_Setup_2_3_0_0.exe, correct?
The version of GFConfig is 2_26_5.exe , correct?
Dave
I also see there many files like this; dll.xml.GIT0, dll.xml.GIT1........all the way up to dll.xml.GIT9
Is this suppose to be like this?
I'm still searching for the answer to my problem.
Dave
Hi Dave,
The dll.GIT entries are just backups of the dll before the setup makes any changes. They can be deleted.
in dll.xml, move this:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>GoFlight Module Interface</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>D:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GoFlight Interface Module.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
to sit directly underneath:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>

I'm afraid I have become a thorn in your side. No luck. Still get the error message upon starting up FSX.
Double checked and everything is in place as outlined above.
I sure hope I'm not doing something stupid.
Hoping for another suggestion!! :-)
Dave
Double check the registry and make sure those entries are removed as each error will make them appear again!
I would do a check disk on the drive you are installing GIT onto. If any errors are found, uninstall the drivers and GIT and reinstall.
You can also try putting the GIT module at the end of the dll.xml or consider rolling back the changes you made.

Hi Knightracing,
Install this:

Checked the registry and the entry is not there. It has not reappeared since the first time I deleted it several days ago. For some reason it does not reappear with each error
I ran the disk scan and nothing was found.
Moved the GIT module to the end of the dll.xml file with no luck either.
I have attached what shows up on my screen as I load FSX. When I say yes or no to loading GIT, FSX starts up. If I say yes to loading it then GIT starts and lights are green/yellow/green.
Don't know where to go next.
Thanks
Dave
Hi Dave,
OK, at that point just click Yes and it should be OK.
Thx
Steve
One way or the other... problem solved and I'm back in business.
Thanks again for the patience and continuing great support.
Regards
Dave
Hi Dave,
Its my fault for not picking up on it sooner.
FSX has an error state which causes the registry issue and then a warning state which occurs after its detected you are running a module that caused an error state (which you always say Yes to after correcting the registry).
I don't understand why this happens; but its so incredibly infrequent I haven't really spent a great deal of time investigating it. I found the solution to the issue because some users of FSUIPC had the same problem of FSUIPC.DLL causing errors in FSX. Its a weird one for sure!
Best wishes
Steve
