Mcp pro screens blank and no lights with NGX

Not sure what is going on, just bought the interface yesterday Brand new built computer Fresh p3d install Fresh NGX install GIT loaded up at first not working and had a yellow dot in the middle sim connect section Reinstalled It worked one time perfect , nothing changed since. Now no matter what I do (is there a correct order for loading up the softwares?), the mcp controls everything in the NGX perfectly but all the displays go blank the instant the flight loads. It shows dashes then all zeros then blank. GIT shows three green Any ideas?

    Have you set the MCP PRO to compatiable add-on in GFConfig.

    Yes , when it isn't on compatible add on the NGX doesn't react to the mcp. On compatible we have blank screens but all buttons and knobs working

    You need the very latest version of the NGX (SP1D or above). GIT only works with the later versions of the NGX as PMDG changed the SDK.

    hello again, wasn't able to try any of that till today.  still no luck.  Definitely have the most current version.

    I can be more detailed now on whats happening.  

    load p3d (pmdg is not default flight)
    screens go to dashes
    3 green circles in GIT
    load ngx
    now, when the flight is loading, the screens change to all zeroes and the sim connect green light is ON (bright)
    the instant the flight loads, the screens go dead, and that simconnect circle goes to OFF (Dim) green
    NGX light blinking away, goflight lights blinks when i move knobs

    This really does sound like you are using the older NGX version. If you really are using SP1D or higher I would suggest an uninstall and reinstall of the NGX.

    Thanks.  Its a pretty much brand new installation so I don't have hiogh hopes that will work but will try.

    Definitely the newest version.  Downloaded from them directly last week and operations manager confirms it as no update available.

    Support for the NGX via GIT has been around for years. Any problems are always the result from the issues listed in the FAQ. If there was a new issue with P3D and the NGX I would have several hundred users complaining by now.

    Send me your version number from the NGX so I can confirm you have the latest.

    Thanks for answering so quickly.  I know what you mean, I used to use the free version of GIT on a different computer with an older version of the NGX and that worked flawlessly.

    The version is 1.10.6461

    Is there any possible clue that the SimConnect/FSX green light never flashes?   The Aircraft/NGX is constantly flashing, and the Goflight light blinks whenever I spin a knob/button press the physical MCP.

    Its like the MCP can talk to the NGX fine but its getting no report back, just dead blank .

    Ive tried everything on that FAQ except for the dll.xmp file (which i could not find in my P3d directory and I do have hidden files visible), but I have the Goflight Interface tool listed in my sim add-on drop down menu and can restart from there and it said for new version I wouldnt have to do that anyway..

    I am running version 3.3.5.17625 and it says sim connect version 3.3.0.0



    1) One of the following:

    a. FSX SP2

    b. FSX Acceleration

    c. FSX Gold

    d. Prepar3D 3.2+

    The only thing I think of now is that its a security/access rights issue. Try running GIT and P3D as Administrator.

    Actually, just reading the thread again, it did initially work so I wonder if your config files are corrupt. Try renaming My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and try again.

    tried that in all different combinations.  when I have time I guess then the only thing to do is reinstall every single thing.

    I had not, and that worked ! You are the man.  I thought I blew out config files in the appdata folder as one of my fix attempts but didn't know so much was stored in my documents.

    I now have working windows and lights, and in the GIT interface the simconnect circle is yellow (not sure what that matters but just saying)

    Excellent news. Don't worry about the Simconnect light - the NGX uses client data instead of standard Simconnect variables/data so it will flash rarely.
