    Hi Steve

I Devices and printers the axis are marked, left toe, right toe and rudder. (no X, Y etc) and there is no calibration, i.e. I move pedals and no response.

They are calibrated via FSUIPC (all my joysticks are disabled in FSX and done via FSUIPC).

In FSUIPC the controller is C and X = left toe brake, Y = right toe brake and R = rudder. BTW the rogue joystick works perfect using the NGX interface.

    Hi Paul,

I'll get a debug version out to you tomorrow. Apologies for the delay, but I needed to get this new release out.

By the way it has an option for disabling Joystick support which will work around the joystick problem until we resolve it.

    Best wishes

    Hi Steve

No worries as it works fine now with joystick support disabled.

A few things I notice using 2.0.823 with the NGX. The GF45's are recognised and I can programme them, using exactly the same commands as the PMDG interface, (Flt Alt, Land Alt & Autobrake) but the sim does not respond to the commands. I copied over my user.cfg but it didn't pick up the GF45 commands. I've double checked and I am using exactly the same commands as PMDG v1.0. Load up the NGX interface v1.0 and all works perfect. Secondly, very minor, but the ign selector on the MESM is about face. i.e left on the hardware selects right in the sim.

    Hi Paul,

I would have liked to get to the bottom of your joystick issue to improve the software's reliability.

I'll need to look at the GF45 code to see what's going wrong. I don't own a GF45 so I work on the code blind, so bear with me.

There is a bug in the GoFlight SDK regarding different versions of the GoFlight drivers and the MESM. It looks like the integration of the generic code has not passed on the bug fix. I'll take a look.

    Best wishes

    Hi Steve

I'll run the debug tomorrow morning but I still have problems posting on the forum as your site is so slow from Japan. My connection speeds are around 500MB/s (tested) on a 1GB connection so I don't think it's my end.  Is it possible to send you files via email or via dropbox?

Do I need to uninstall 2.0.823 or just overwrite it?

    Hi Paul,

The website is having problems due to the hosting company so its not your end. You can use dropbox if its easier.

Yes uninstall and make backup copies of all your settings files.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for this. Its weird thought because its failing where I expected it to, but last we tried it didn't fail there! Very odd.

I'll flesh out debug messages in that area of the code for you try again to give me detailed output.

    Thx

    Hi Paul,

You bug report on the GF45 button not working has me scratching my head because I understood the GF45 does not have buttons, only the GF46 has buttons? Can you confirm.

    Thx

    Steve

I didn't think I mentioned button! It's the rotary's. Using the NGX specific interface I have the left hand rotary of each of the 3 GF45's set to, auto brake, flt alt and ldg alt. Works perfect. If I set up the latest GIT, using exactly the same buttons and description, GIT takes the info but the 3 x GF's are dead.

Also have checked out my MESM and it is not faulty, so with both the NGX and GIT interfaces the LH engine start goes straight to cont, after ground I can only set it to off with the mouse in the sim. RH is fine and works in all 3 positions.

    Hi Paul,

I've fixed the ignition problem with the MESM, but are you now saying the  LH engine selector is faulty as well?

    Hi Steve

It's the same problem I had with the NGX. See my earlier post on this forum.  My MESM is brand new so I don't suspect it as the problem. I'm using GF v2.22

    Hi Paul,

Goflight are sending me a MESM and GF45. Hopefully they will be with me this week or early next week. I can then code and test for them properly instead of doing it blind.

    Best wishes

    Hi Steve

That's great. I will be away from my FS Computer  until 3rd September so hopefully we can continue then.

Once again, thank you for your support.

    Take care

    Hi Steve

GoFlight have sent me a test programme for my MESM. I'll let you know if it's faulty or not after I test it tonight.

    H Steve

My MESM is faulty, the LH rotary does not select OFF, so the fault lies with my hardware. Hopefully they'll send a replacement!

    Hi Paul,

When you are next at your machine, a new debug version is available for you to try. Remember I need you to have the Cyborg Joystick plugged in when you run it.

    Thx
