Navdata tools dysfunction
Hello,
I bought yesterday NavData tools and installed it on my PC (W7 64bits + P3D V3.4 + PMDG 737NGX)
I indicated in settings I'm using PD3 V3.4 and indicated the path where P3D is installed, when I run sim scenery update, The software scans the files for more than 3 hours and nothing happens. Can you tell me how to deal with this problem ?
Thanks

Hi,
It will take a long time to complete. At one point does it get stuck? Do you get an error message?
Thx
Steve
That odd. Did it stay stuck at 1500 files for 3 hours? Can you confirm you are running the Sim Scenery Update and not the Sim Scenery Area Update?
If yes to both of those questions, can you disable all your add-on scenery and see if it works?
Thanks
Steve
I'm wondering if v3.4 of P3D has added something that is breaking the software. I will run some tests and come back to you tomorrow.
Best wishes
Steve
See comment above!

Ok Steve I look forward to a solution. Thanks
Hi Jacques,
My initial testing has found that the stall can be caused by having Prepar3D running whilst doing the database update. Can you confirm if it still stalls when P3D is not running?
Thanks
Steve
OK, I'll look into further.
Thx
Steve
Just had a thought, can you run the NavData Tool as Administrator so we can eliminate any security issues.
Thx
Steve
OK. Point the Settings directory to SCENERY, save the settings and run the Sim Scenery Update. When complete, Point the Settings directory back to P3D MAIN, save the settings and then run the Sim Scenery Area Update. This should now work OK.
It looks like a file somewhere in your P3D setup is causing a problem. The above should provide a workaround until I write some debug code to track down the file causing the issue.
Let me know how you get on.
Thx
Steve
It is a complex tool. You will have to read all the instructions here: http://pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/nav-data-tool/23-operating.html
I recommend importing (do not load) one of the examples and follow the data through.

1) You can't. You can zoom in though.
2) Why would you want that - surely you would use the chart you are copying from?
Best wishes
