I also have another question...I have not gotten the error, but when using this version and the PMDG MD11, it seems that the switches are a lot slower. What I mean if I can explain it, is that when I flip on a toggle (T-8) to control the taxi lights it takes 2 or 3 times of flipping before the light will activate. The version before work very fast and I never had an issue, it just seems that all button and switch controls are very slow.

Also, I see that you have a new version for the PMDG NGX, I thought you wanted us to use the GIT for the NGX, is that not the case, or is it to get ready for the 777??? The reason I ask is that I transferred all the controls over to the GIT and I do not use the Go-flight PMDG interface any more.

    Hi Terry,

I'm not seeing that behaviour at all. Have you rebooted and tried different aircraft? If it is still the same I'll need to investigate the slowness problem.

The new PMDG Interface version was released because someone was having connection problems with version 1.1. of the interface and GoFlight need a working product.

GIT will always be superior to the PMDG interface because it will only ever support PMDG aircraft and thus will not have Detective, bespoke events etc. I personally use GIT and that will always be the case.

    Let me know.

    Best wishes

    Steve

PS Does the slowness appear for all switches and all devices? You may just have a dry joint or something on one particular switch.

The slowness is in all switches and buttons(T8, P8 and RP48), the rotaries do not seem to have any problems, they work fine...I have not tried other aircraft yet so I will let you know. But on version 2-0-823-0 the switches and buttons worked perfect. This new download and version 2-0-958-0 both showed the slowness on the PMDG MD11 with all the buttons. I did do the proper uninstall and new install with a cold re-boot and still have the slowness..

I will test with other aircraft and let you know...

As for the PMDG interface, I agree the the GIT is much better and stable for using it with the NGX and all aircraft as of yet. The product is great, a bit of a learning curve but I seem to be getting the hang of it and things are working nice.

Will the detective ever work with the NGX or is that not in PMDG SDK?

    Hi Terry,

That's interesting, so something in the prior version triggered your slowdown. I'll crawl over the code that has been updated and see what might be causing it. Did you try version 947 and if so was the slow down in that version too?

    Thx

    Okay, more info...

I tested it with the NGX and everything works fine...I went back to the PMDG MD11 and find that the switch moves and preforms the action fine, the delay is in the data that turns on the LED above the switch. So if I turn on the taxi light, the light on the aircraft works fine, the green LED above the switch that lets me know the taxi light is on is getting delayed. It worked fine on the PMDG NGX...

Hope that helps, Plus I never received any error, such as the one that was reported to you when you changed to this new version.

Both versions after 823 have the LED slow down...

    Okay more info part 2...

I loaded up the NGX and checked all the switches and buttons and they worked fine, I noticed that the GF-46 was frozen. The label on the GF-46 stated XPNR 0000, this is nothing new, usually I just shut down the GIT program and unplug and re-plug in the GF-46 and re-start the software this will usually fix any problems.
But when I did this, it kept reverting back to XPNR 0000 and then would freeze. I did my usual fix but nothing worked. So I uninstalled the latest the GIT software and went back to Version 823. I re-booted and started FSX with the NGX. When I started the GIT everything was working fine. The switches and the GF-46 all worked as normal.

So something has changed between version 823 and 978 to affect the GF-46 from working and keeps freezing and the delay on the LED indicators on the buttons and switches. The MD11 is back to working normal now that I am back to version 823.

I noticed that in the C:\Users\Terry\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software\GoFlight_Interface_Tool.e_Url_gw4m5qzc1g0q3gv2b241xtdelpq3noqd there is a new folder below this one for version 978. C:\Users\Terry\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software\GoFlight_Interface_Tool.e_Url_zxeggorwrce11o0og03clh5ullpfowlu. Usually when I add a new version it uses the same folder, it just creates a new sub folder with the version number on it. So why does this version create a whole new path???

Also in side the new path C:\Users\Terry\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software\GoFlight_Interface_Tool.e_Url_zxeggorwrce11o0og03clh5ullpfowlu\2.0.972.0, there is the config file that is 5kb is size. I would normally just copy the last version config and paste it into the new version. When I do this it always reverts back to the 5kb version deleting the 21kb version I pasted.. I did noticed that it added an XML file to the Go-Flight folder in My document called PMDG.

Just thought I would let you know what i am seeing on my end, you have the latest file I sent to you awhile ago, I have not changed anything other than the versions. Let me know if you want another copy of my config.

Let me know if you need more info or for me to test something...

Thanks Terry. That's pointed me in the right direction. Can you check the log for the later versions for any error message. I'll come back to you shortly.

In relation to file sizes, if you read the change log it explains that the PMDG config data has been moved out of user.config and into a xml human readable pmdg.xml file.

The change log also suggested that you increase the delays in the Settings tab for GF166, GF46 and GF45 devices as the display routine has been made more efficient and thus needs increased delays to stop the device locking up.

    Best wishes

    Hi Terry,

I've just done a quick test using the NAV light and a T8 and the light changed instantly for me.

I don't have your updated MD11 settings.xml and bespokevents.xml file so if you could send them to me please that would help.

Also what is your PC processor and speed? Can you also list all the Goflight hardware you have along with quantities.

    Thx
