  • Hi Jeff,

Firstly GIT has all GoFlight devices disabled by default. You must enable what you want to use. Secondly only some devices automatically configure for the NGX and 77X - namely the MCP PRO, MCP, EFIS, MESM, GF46, LGT, LGTII.

The GF166 radios can be automatically configured by choosing either COM, NAV or ADF on the GF166 tab for each device and the SECM can be automatically configured by pressing the FS Default button.

Other than that, its read the manual to learn how to manually configure additional devices.

  • Hi Jeff,

It may or may not help you by looking at the SDK file. Although its in C++, the first part list events and variables and provides some useful hints on what data is contained in them. The file is <your flight sim directory>\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\SDK\PMDG_NGX_SDK.h

The first parts of this article will also help you track down the correct events and variables: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/19-operating/36-configuring-goflight-devices-additional-information-pmdg-ngx.html

  • Hi Jeff,

Since Windows 8 upwards, Microsoft changed some things in Direct X which broke the LED's on GoFlight gear. Goflight produced a fix for this, but in Windows 10 it can be buggy.

Do this: In the GoFlight drivers directory you should find a file called GFWindows8Fixer.cmd. Unplug your GF devices with LED's, run the file as administrator and then plug the devices back in. GFConfig should light the first LED when you click on each device.

I am  running windows 7 pro... I do not see that file GFWindows8.fixer.cmd at all in goflight files
    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b329/Jdog109socal/20170110_073155_zpsiahmaqre.jpg
  • OK, do me a screen shot showing one of your P8 button configs where the LED doesn't work.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Steve here is a short video with my settings and what  is going on... Forgive me first photo of setting has wrong setting light value of 2 i was trying everything out listed just did not set that one back.. I dont think its setting since i have tried all settings..GF166A all work fine, its is only the Gf p8 and wp6, & rp48... I would guess problem is in interface something is not allowing any lights to work .. Like i said though buttons are programmed correctly and work.. it seems to just be lighting issue.. im running windows 7 pro, i have tried plugging in  modules directly into 2.0 usb and 3.0 usb and in the 7 port belkin powered use ports. any ways thanks for helping me out . hope we can find the problem

  • It won't let me watch the video. Says it's private. I need to see your config so I can validate you have set things up correctly (999 times out of 1000 its incorrect programming of GIT). Just give me one example so I can check it out.

    Steve

  • i think i have tried all the variations in all the modules.

  • OK, I have looked at the DATA_WARN_SWITCH_MASTER_CAUTION_LEFT example and apart from using 0 instead of 1, it looks OK.

This now points to you using an older version of the NGX. Although the Events stayed compatible across NGX versions, the data structure containing variables changed. GIT only works with the very latest version of the NGX. Please check and update.

    Thx

    Steve

  • If the above doesn't apply, check the FAQ item called "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)".

Although you do not have the MCP PRO or MCP the issues will affect your devices in the same way i.e. no LED's. The FAQ is here: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

  • Can you go into the CDU and get the PMDG version number and post it here.

You do not have the NGX set as your default plane?

    Thx

    Steve

  • Installed version of PMDG is 1.10.6461....... Now for the default.... Im using Prepar 3d version  tried to set default now p3d loads and disapears.. cant find it anywhere... guess im going to have to uninstall every thing and start over again.
  • This problem is out of control. I think it's just time to delet hard drive and start over. I will load window 10 and reload everything once again. By the way this interface software is a pain in the ass
  • Steve , I set pmdg up as default and P3d tried to load and started and disappeared p3d program just vanished on my screen ...So i have done a repair on P3d and now its back and running with Pmdg as the default plane that show up on screen when starting. How every still no lights on go flight wp6.rp48.gf p8 as programmed in.. Button work ok . I wish i was more of a computer engineer or a Nasa Scientist cause i think that what it takes to get this working correctly. I find it hard to be leave im the only one with this problem..After 2 weeks and many hours in to the middle of the night trying  to get this interface software to work and still nothing..I did buy a new copy of Windows 10 pro and wondering if i just delete My Hard drive and start fresh with new install of window,P3d, PMDG if this  will fix my issue or if I will just have the same thing going on.What are your thought at this point?

    Jeff
  • "Pmdg as the default plane that show up on screen when starting". That is the problem. The PMDG SDK has a bug in it - admitted by PMDG. You cannot have the NGX as the default plane - its breaks the PMDG SDK.

You can try loading it as default, then load a Microsoft default plane and then load the NGX again - sometimes that fixes the PMDG bug.

  • Yes i have tried to load PMDG and set as default..Wont work it screw up P3d. and screens all disappear. I had to uninstall every thing again. And reinstall P3d to work right once again. Now when i start P3d the first aircraft that shows up is the F22 raptor. from there before loading is where i change aircraft to Pmdg. This has to the be the first plane to load other wise nothing will work in the PMDG if you load other aircraft before PMDG.
Ill try to load PMDG then a Default and go back into PMDG. Crossing finger that will work.
  • Well tried what i wrote above that did nothing to fix issue.
  • If you still don't have it sorted I could do a teamviewer and help you get it running. You shouldn't have to be uninstalling P3D etc.

    Common problems :

-Try running P3D and GIT as admin

-turn User account Control setting to lowest in Windows

-exclude P3D and GIT folders from virus scanner or Windows Defender

-install the FSX simconnect from (your path to P3D\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib), just double click the simconnect.msi

-make sure you have the latest goflight driver installed AND your devices set to compatible addon

90% of people with problems like these one of the above or a combination of them will fix it.
    Steve McNitt
  • Can you verify that the LED's physically work either by pressing the Identify button on the devices tab in GIT or using GFConfig and clicking on each device.

    Thx

    Steve

  • leds do work.I did run the FSX simconnect.msi, i have run P3d and GIT as a adimin. I have even turned AVG anti virus, and still no leds working. I think i have done all of the above. and still no lights..

    Jeff
  • Now i had in the past with using FSX and having anti virus do weird things happen. Do i need to uninstall anitvirus completely?

    Im now using Prepar3d v3.4

    Jeff
