Interface Tool Version 2.747.0.0

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my MCP Advanced, using Interface Tool Version 2.747.0.0
I've ensured that all options are set to FS Default in GFConfig
I've removed all assignments to all other devices in GFConfig
I've installed the software where my Goflight drivers have been installed.
GoFlight Interface Module.dll is in the dll.xml file.
After starting P3D V3 with any aircraft, I wait for VC cockpit view to load, I then open the Interface tool. It opens ok, three greens, MCP is identified but MCP tab is greyed out. Only Mode Generic Aircraft is shown.
Import Wizzard,Aircraft Power,DIO and Detective are all greyed out.
Below is a copy of the log.

  • Hi Bill,

It sounds like the GIT dll is not loading. Try loading P3D and GIT as Administrator. Also check the FAQ entry "FSX/P3D/FSX SE Crashes on start up indicating an error with the Goflight Interface Module".

Also make sure you are using the P3Dv3 version of GIT.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hello Steve,
     Thanks for the prompt reply.
P3D and GIT are set as Administrator. The key mentioned in the FAQ is not in my registry and I'm using the P3Dv3 version.
     Any other ideas?
     Bill

  • This is a strange issue. Perhaps edit dll.xml and move the GIT module at the beginning or end of the file.

If still no success, tell me all the Goflight gear you have connected including quantities and the date/time of GoFlight Interface Module.dll so I can check things at my end.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hello again,Steve!
As it  happens, I had already tried moving the GIT module to top and bottom of the file with no change. I've just tried it again with no change. I did notice that the Migration Tool that I use places itself back at the start of the file, even when disabled, when starting P3D. I don't know if this is relevant. Incidentally, I had been using your old GF and PMDG interfaces for a number of years. I tried the PMDG one and it still works with the NGX.
The units I have are as follows= MCP, LGT and TQ6,One of each.
Date and time of the GoFlight Interface Module.dll is 29/9/16 // 17:53
     Cheers,
      Bill
  • Hi Bill,

What version of GIT did you previously use that worked?

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi Bill,

Can you try renaming My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool whilst GIT is not running.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,
I'm away from home till Wednesday. Will get back to you then. Thanks again for all your help.

  • Hello again Steve,
I've tried renaming the interface tool. No change. The only older GIT I have now is 2.1.19 5 but it doesn't work. I think I was using an even older version but have deleted it. The GFDevP3D 2.26 4 is working ok but has developed a strange habit. When starting up my computer, my MCP displays all its numbers and lights and works correctly. If I exit P3D and restart after an hour or so, the display shows only red dashes, no numbers and does not respond to any of the rotary controls or buttons. The sim responds to the MCP controls and switches but the display does not. If I reload GFDevP3D while in the sim, only red dashes. I have to shut down the computer completely and restart it to get the display back.

  • I think a clean install would be a good start. Uninstall GIT and make sure the GIT Module entry is deleted from P3D's dll.xml. Delete My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool.

Install GIT in C:\GIT so that security issues are minimised. Check the dll.xml has the correct entry and location. Copy GFDev.dll from your GoFlight drivers directory into C:\GIT. Run GIT as Administrator and P3D as Administrator. Let me know what happens.

    Thx

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,
Followed your instructions, no change I'm afraid. I loaded the Majestic Q400 and opened the Interface tool. It opens ok, three greens, MCP is identified but MCP tab is greyed out. Only Mode Generic Aircraft is shown.
Import Wizzard,Aircraft Power,DIO and Detective are all greyed out and only red dashes on the MCP. When I changed GF Config back to default i.e. FS default and default assignments, the digits reappear and I can change Alt, Heading etc in the sim. I know it may be nothing to do with GIT, but have you any idea why my  GFDevP3D is displaying the strange behaviour I mentioned in my last post?
     Bill
  • This is very strange. I will mimic your GoFlight setup and see if its an odd bug.
  • Apologies for the late reply.

I think a remote desktop session would be useful so I can check a few things. When would you be available to do this (in GMT).

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,
Will be on holiday for the next couple of weeks. I'll be in touch when I return.

     Thanks again for your help,

       Bill
