GIT freeze up after GF Driver update

Yesterday, after installing GF driver update, the GIT was running fine. Then, after receivng em from GF with
'new driver for GF Config to download, I downloaded it again (didn't realize they are just now emailing their customers about the new river).

Today, I'm back at the same problem:the GIT UI is frozen on desktop.

Uinstalled GF Config. Reinstalled with new drivers.
Unstalled GIT and then renstalled.

Same problem of frozen UI.

Thanks for the help here.

Doug

  • Guess I'll hold off on installing GF 2.27.0 drivers ... this has happened before with GIT.  As far as I know GF 2.27.0 just brings in support for FSX-SE so unless you use FSX-SE, probably best to avoid GF 2.27.0.

But if you want some diagnostic suggestions:
    1.  Make sure you are running both GF Config and GIT "as Admin"
    2.  Unplug all your GF devices and test GIT again, then exit GIT, add one GF device at a time, start GIT and see if it's just a specific GF module.
    3.  Run (as admin) the Windows8Fixer file that gets installed with GF drivers.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • Rob, will give this a try. Yes, I run FSX-SE, and will check on Admin status when running.

  • BTW, Rob, am running W7. So the Windows 8Fixer 'emulates' 7 ? or vice versa?

  • Rob, the problem seems to be wih the GF-MESM module (the engine start). I unplugged it, and nowGIT works. The new drivers DID fix the problem last week and the MESM worked-river was suppose to fix the freeze up/.  But I'l haven't reinstall the new GF driver again and will do that again later. I'm just glad to get all else running...and the problem isolated.
    Thanks again

  • Hi Doug,

Yes, the MESM module was the cause when this issue happened before.  Steve will probably need to address the issue.

    Cheers, Rob.
  • I'll look into it.
  • The problem is in GIT when it reads the version number for the MESM. It is expecting 2.27, but gets 2.2.7.0 since the driver update.

I'll get a fix out ASAP, in the meantime stay with the 2.26.5 version of the GoFlight Drivers.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • Got it! Thanks, much, you two. Doug
  • GIT has been updated to solve this problem.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • That was quick, thank you Steve.

    Cheers, Rob.
