Help noob with GF 166 and Majestic Q400

Hi, just got this plane and I'm trying to setup my goflight equip.  I imported the bespoked events from Slayer (thank you sir) and I'm struggling to get the radio to work.   How are you able to tune the radio channel without first clicking on one of the side buttons on the radio stack?  I discovered that I have to first click on the side button which then highlights the frequency in blue, then I can use the GF166 knob to change frequency before it automatically switches to the new frequency.  Basically, I don't want to click anything with the mouse to tune in a radio frequency or nav frequency

Thanks for any help

Bill

  • Hi Bill,

If that side button click is required in the VC when normally tuning the radios with a mouse (without using the GF166) then its needs to replicated. All the buttons are in use on the GF166 so you would need to assign a button on some other hardware to emulate this action.

Use Detective to monitor what happens when the side button is clicked so you can create a Bespoke Event to assign to the hardware button.

    Best wishes

  • thanks, will try that.

  • so, I tried seeing what command shows up when I click the side button and nothing shows up.  How may I ask are you tuning a radio in the Q400 with your bespoke event.  Again, I loaded yours, but it only changes frequency after I hit the side button in the vc for the corresponding radio and when the numbers are highlighted in blue, only then can I use my GF166 rotary knob to change the freq.

  • Perhaps Slayer can shed some light on this as he wrote the config.

    Best wishes

  • The Q400 radios work like that. You could try loading default Gf166 radio profiles but If I recall right they don't work with the Q400, thats why I programmed them the way they work in the real thing
