Microsoft .NET Framework

After installation and upon opening the GF Interface Tool, I receive the following error message: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, Version=10.0.62615.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5f523ae7e6e1b389' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. at A...cctor() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at A..() at A..(Object , EventArgs ) at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.OnTick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.TimerNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) For example: When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box. Any ideas? Thank you.

  • Its basically complaining about being unable to find Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll which indicates a problem with your flight sim install. You could try copying the file into the GIT directory.
  • Thank you for the reply. Sorry, but do you mind stating which file I need to try and copy and where is the GIT directory?
  • You will need to search your hard drive for the file. The GIT directory is the installation directory for the GoFlight Interface Tool which is normally C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight but you may have installed it somewhere else. Best wishes Steve
  • Also, make sure you get version 10.0.62615 of the file. You can check that by right clicking the file and selecting properties.
  • Also, just thought, the version of GIT you are running must be for FSX with that particular version of the file. Is it FSX that you are using? If not your need to run the correct version of GIT for either FSX SE or P3D. Best wishes Steve

    .
  • Yes it is. That will be the problem. I'll PM you a link to an alternative download location.
  • After downloading GIT successfully, I have been reading the installation section on PollyPot. I open GIT and GFConfig, then load FSX and and startup a PMDG 737 in cockpit view. On GIT, I get a red blinking light until GF Status, Yellow blinking light under SimConnect/FSX Status, and a red blinking light under Aircraft Status, althoughit does show that the Mode is NGX PMDG 737-800/NGX WL, which is correct. Also, the Import Wizard button is shaded and I am not able to click it. Any suggestions? Thanks again in advance.
  • If the GoFlight Status LED is red, you are missing GFDev.dll. You will find it in the GoFlight drivers directory. Just copy the file into the directory where you installed GIT. Best wishes Steve
  • Steve, I can't thank you enough! That resolved the issue and now I am good to go!
