MCP Pro showing Zero's After Purchasing GoFlight Interface Tool from Polypotsoftware

Please Help: MCP PRO Just showing Zero's After Purchasing GoFlight Interface Tool from Polypotsoftware My MCP Pro was working fine on Windows 8.1 using FSX until I upgraded to Polypot GFI. I was using the GF 2.1.19.5 with PMDG 737 and PMDG 777 NGX Aircraft The reason I upgraded to the new GFI was that I purchased the PMDG 747 V3 which my MCP Pro could not recognise. Currently none of the PMDG aircaft work with MCP Pro. They just show a series of Zero's on the MCp Pro. By turning the knobs the numbers change on the aircarft but they remain Zero on my MCP. This only applies to PMDG aiurcraft. The Default FSX aircaft work fine. I am a novice at this and I would be obliged if someone could help. Have been downloading and deleting files for the past 24 hours in the hope that I can find a fix. The following is a log from my GIT 11:57:44 GoFlight Connection Starting..... 11:57:44 SimConnect Connection Starting..... 11:57:45 GoFlight Connection Started 11:57:55 SimConnect Message Processing Started 11:57:56 SimConnect Connection Started 11:57:56 Aircraft Connection Starting..... 11:57:57 SimConnect: Event Received: Start 11:57:58 FSUIPC: Connected! 11:57:58 Aircraft Connection Started 11:57:58 SimConnect: Event Received: Aircraft Loaded/Flight Loaded 11:57:58 Simconnect Version: 10.0.61259.0 11:57:58 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 0 11:57:58 SimConnect: Event Received: PAUSE, 0 11:57:58 Synchronising Switches & Selectors ..... 11:57:58 Synchronising Switches & Selectors: Waiting for SimConnect ..... 11:58:03 PMDG SDK option is OK in FSX 11:58:03 SimConnect: Event Received: Aircraft Type Changed 11:58:03 GoFlight Connection Starting..... 11:58:03 SimConnect Message Processing Finished 11:58:03 SimConnect Connection Starting..... 11:58:04 SimConnect Message Processing Started 11:58:04 GoFlight Connection Started 11:58:04 SimConnect Connection Started 11:58:04 Aircraft Connection Starting..... 11:58:04 SimConnect: Event Received: Aircraft Loaded/Flight Loaded 11:58:04 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 0 11:58:04 SimConnect: Event Received: PAUSE, 1 11:58:06 Aircraft Connection Started 11:58:06 Simconnect Version: 10.0.61259.0 11:58:25 SimConnect: Event Received: SIMSTART, 0 11:58:25 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 1 11:58:28 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 11:58:28 SimConnect: Exception Received: UNRECOGNIZED_ID 11:58:31 Synchronising Switches & Selectors Complete ++++++++++++++++++++++++++BY turning the dials I get the following readings but the numbers remain zero on my Goflight MCP Pro 12:00:37 SimConnect: Event Received: SIMSTOP, 0 12:00:37 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 0 12:01:08 SimConnect: Event Received: SIMSTART, 0 12:01:08 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 1 12:01:29 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:29 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:29 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:29 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:29 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:30 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:30 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:30 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. 12:01:30 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A.' threw an exception. • Hi Cyrus, Please see the FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html The exceptions in the log suggest you do not have the very latest version of the NGX installed. Best wishes Steve
  • Thank You Steve I followed your link and I have checked everything suggested. I just recently purchased the 737 NGX and checked PMDG and no updates are available. I also have the PMDG 777. They all worked fine until I upgraded my GFIT last night to work with the 747 PMDG V3. That's when the problem started. It is amazing that I can turn the knobs on my GoFlight MCP and it changes the MCP on the aircraft...but the knobs remain 0000 on the MCP Pro
  • Can you check in the op centre that you have 1.10.6461 installed for the NGX. If so, uninstall GIT, make sure its all been removed and then reinstall. Check that you only have one entry for the GoFlight Interface Module in the FSX dll.xml file.

Also make sure you are running the FSX version of GIT and not the FSX SE version.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Thank you Steve
I will get back to you once I have gone through your suggestions.
  • Dear Steve
I checked the Op Centre in PMDG. I can confirm that I have the latest Version PMDG 737/800 version 1.10.6461 - PMDG777 200/LR 1.10.7025 and PMDG 747-8 V3 Version 3.00.8189
Following your message I uninstalled and re-installed the GIT and checked the Module in FSX dll.xml
The installation instructions on the GFIT downloaded from PolypotSoftware suggested that we should add the following which I did
    ========================

    GoFlight Module Interface
    False
    C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GoFlight Interface Module.dll

    =======================
Following your message I checked the file and found another instance of the same code in the file
    ====================
    PMDG Events
    False
    PMDG\DLLs\PMDGEvents.dll

    PMDG Sounds
    False
    PMDG\DLLs\PMDGSounds.dll

    GoFlight Module Interface
    False
    C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFlight\GoFlight Interface Module.dll

    ===========================
I deleted the default and left your code as suggested. It did not work
I deleted your code and left the original. It still did not work
As requested, I checked my purchase of the GFIT on the PolypotSoftware site to make sure it was the correct version. GITFsx.zip.
Please note that my original GF Drivers and GFIT worked fine with both the PMDG737NGX and the PMDG777. I purchased the PMDG 747 v3 on the 24th April and noticed that the GoFlight MCP Pro would not synchonise with the 747. For this reason I purchased the GFIT from Polypot Software.
Since I downladed and installed the GFIT none of the PMDG aircraft synchronize with the MCP Pro. I only get 0000 on the MCP Pro.
I should point out that when turning the dials on thge MCP Pro the numbers change on the aircraft but the MCPro remains at 0000
This does not apply to default FSX aircraft. They all seem to communicate well with the MCP and numbers and dials synchronise.
I removed the GIFT purchased from Polypotsoftware and installed the previous versions that worked. Unfortunately they no longer work.
I noticed that when I start the computer and load GFIT and FSX, the GFIT part of the log shows 11:27:48 FSUIPC: Connection Failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8385

  • Can you try running GIT and FSX as Administrator so we can eliminate security issues.

    Thx
    Steve
  • The GF Config and GFIT and FSX are always run as Administrator
  • I think that because the previous version of GIT no longer works either when it did previously, we have to question the PMDG installations. It may be worth un-licensing and then removing the PMDG aircraft making sure nothing remains after the uninstall. Then install the NGX only and retest with GIT.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • oh God... Does that mean that I have to uninstall the PMDG 737/ 777 and the latest 747/ ? This would mean uninstalling FSUIPC and all the stuff that took ages to setup.
  • Why would you need to uninstall FSUIPC, only the PMDG aircraft need uninstalling. I've run out of ideas and this is the only thing I can think of. It has worked for two other people in the past, so its worth a shot!
  • So in effect you have not come across the following messages in the GFIT Log. I certainly do not understand what they mean.
Am I correct to assume that the GFIT has been tested to work on the latest PMDG 777/ 737 and 747 V3 flight as they may have added stuff since your release that create a conflict. As mentioned everything works with the PMDG MCP and the numbers change on the aircraft with the exception that the 0000 numbers do not change/ on GoFlight Pro MCP. The MCP Pro seems to be sending data out to PMDG but not synchronising back to the MPC Pro.

11:29:04 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A. ' threw an exception.
    11:29:04 SimConnect: Exception Received: UNRECOGNIZED_ID

11:31:44 NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A. ' threw an exception.
  • No one has reported this problem before where the log shows "NGX To MCPPRO: The type initializer for 'A. ' threw an exception.". Having zeroes display is a common problem, but none of the fixes have worked for you.

Yes it has been tested, I have all three and so do many other users. There is something wrong with your particular installation that we need to diagnose so its going to be trial and error.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thank You. I will get back to you. It seems many people have problems and issues uninstalling in full the PMDG from their systems.
  • Prior to uninstalling...I will send a message to PMDG explaining the situation to see if they can find a solution and advise the best method to delete all the files from my system.
Thank you for your help. I will get back to you once I receive a reply " Hopefully"

What should i try next to make your software work. Should I install it on top of the existing installations?

    Thanks
    Cyrus
  • Dear Steve
Further to the above and in your installation instructions it states :
" You should choose to install the software where you Goflight drivers have been installed (where GFConfig.exe and GFDev.dll reside). If you choose to install in another directory you will need to start the Goflight Interface Tool, click the Settings tab and select the directory where the Goflight drivers exist."

In your settings of the GFIT there is no section where we can point to a directory where Gfw.dll resides. This option is available in my old GFIT 2.1.19.5

I also do not understand the following"
    4) Double check any programs that you use to interface with GoFlight hardware have been disabled or their configurations do not duplicate what you intend to do with the GoFlight Interface Tool. E.g. FSUIPC, LINDA. Note there is full compatibility with FSUIPC with the correct settings.

    Thanks
    Cyrus
  • I managed to eliminate the error in the log "
11:39:48 GoFlight Worker Thread Failed: Unable to load DLL 'GFDev.dll':

by copying the GFDev.ll from the Goflight Directory to the GFIT directory.
The system works with no errors and the mcp has no issues.
Please bear in mind that this is the old version of the GFconfig and the GFIT and not the one supplied by Polypotsoftware
  • Dear Steve
As I have not heard anything today on my issues, regarding 0000s appearing on my mcp pro... I tried to again download your software to experiment and find a solution this 4 day ordeal. On your site it states Expiry = Never LEFT 22 and when i try to enter the code to activate the software it states Registration Failed: Exceeded install Count.
There is no mention on your site on the number of times I can install this software on my system.
  • Install over the top of your existing working GIT installation. After install check the main GIT files and the dll have been changed (dates or versions)

    Thx
    Steve
  • Dear Steve
I hope you are feeling better.
Yesterday I installed my original GfConfig version 2.27.0 and GFIT version 2.1.19.5 together with PMDG 737NGX /PMDG 777 and the latest PMDG 747 v3.
All the aircraft except for the 747 vs are working fine with the MCP Pro with no errors.
I tried to install your version on top of the GFIT when to my frustration I got the message I exceeded the download. I understand that you have now re-set the counter.
I will follwow your suggestion this evening to downlad and install your GFIT on top of my existing one. I just hope somehow it works. I have lost count on the number of times I have installed and removed both aircraft and GFIT during the last 4 days.
    Will keep you informed.
    Again hope you are better.
    Regards
    Cyrus

followed your instruction to install your verion of the GFIT on top of the working one. Unfortunately I get the same problem as before. A series of 0000's on the Gfpro MCP.

  • Please find attached screen shot of the files prior and after installing the GFIT.
    Left Prior - Right After
i only notice a couple of changes...
  • Have you tried excluding the Goflight directory from your virus scanner or windows defender?

Also could be a messed up .NET framework or visual studio not installed properly, Have you run windows update to make sure those are up to date?

Have you tried starting GIT after you start the sim and load the aircraft?

How are you launching the sim/choosing the aircraft? Do you load a default first then the 747 or straight into the 747?

  • Dear Steve
    A VERY BIG THANK YOU
I followed your recommendations and updated .NET Framework. The software works perfect with GoFlight Pro and the MCP. All aircraft now functional and I must admit much better than before.
I also changed the way I access the program. I used to run GFConfig first and then GFIT. Now I just run GFIT before launching FSX.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support.
Finally I would be obliged if you could advise whether you have developed a GFIT to support Xplane 11 under Mac.
Again .....thank you a million times. Six days of frustration came to an end.
    Best wishes
    Cyrus
  • Hi Cyrus,

There is no Mac support as the user base (Mac with GoFlight) is so small, it isn't cost effective to develop for the platform.

    Best wishes
    Steve
