GIT SE problem

Hi,

After hours of work to update netFX, java, VGA card drivers, GF config and GF interface tool SE, I could not start. I know that it is something about regional settings. When I first bought,GIT first version also did not worked in my computer but later I changed my input and regional settings to English and it worked. But for GIT SE it did not worked also. I am attaching my screen shot, may be it will help you. You will see the strange character I marked. I think only changing that character in your code and recompiling the exe (with unicode, UTF or something like it) will end my trouble.

As an old IT man who swore ten years ago not to deal with computers but only flight simulator :) , I will be waiting your action. Now, I will try to return first version of GIT. Hope, it will work after so much changes to get GIT SE worked.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Those odd characters are actually because the code has been obfuscated. The program does support multi-language already.

How far did the program execute? Did you manage to enter the Key? Did you see the PMDG SDK notice? Are there files in My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and if so, please delete them all and try again.

    Best wishes

  • PS, Also make sure you have the latest .NET Framework installed via Windows Update.
  • Hi, steve, thanks for your fast answer. Right after I have written above message, I returned back to GIT old version and old is working. I changed all my settings to US- English but it did not work. When I was trying to replace the version, I also uninstalled the Goflight drivers to .27 version and I checked that c:\P..(x86)\goflight directory was completely deleted. This evening, I will check about net framework versions again.
  • To make it clear: when I change settings to US-English, I don't have any problem with first version.
  • The earlier version did have language issues, but they have subsequently been resolved so your finding does my sense.

The latest release uses the very latest .NET Framework and some people have had issues because its out of date on their systems.

It may be worth renaming My Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool so GIT does not use any old setting files (not the Program Files (x86)\GoFlight directory)

  • Hi Steve,
According to : https://msdn.microsoft.com/tr-tr/library/hh925568(v=vs.110).aspx I checked NET frameworks.

    And then checked Windows update:

And then I uninstalled Go Flight drivers and GIT (first version ) , I deleted all the related files:

With ccleaner I cleaned up the registry. Most of these steps and later steps, I restarted the pc.

I made a clean install of Goflight drivers, restart and GIT SE. I enter my password (between errors)

    Nothing changed:

  • I will return back to GIT first version and I will be waiting if you will advise me

Thanks for your help and regards.
  • And, maybe useful, here I attached the error messages before uninstalling GIT SE.
  • Answer ✓
The error message is indicating a missing file from Flight Simulator - the version number indicates its the SE version. If you run the FSX SE version of GIT with the standard version of FSX you will get this error - which it looks like you did. If it was FSX SE, then your FSX SE installation is corrupt. Try running the repair function in Steam.

  • For a long time, I could not write. Please don't lough, When I entered the downloads page, I saw GIT and GIT SE. I thought GIT is older version and GIT SE stands for GIT second edition. When you have written Steam Edition, I realized that SE stands for Steam Edition. Sorry for taking your time and effort. Today I will try to install right versions.
