SimConnect: Exception Received: OUT_OF_BOUNDS

Hello!
Bit of a problem getting this working - I am receiving this in the log file:
16:18:43 GoFlight Connection Starting.....
16:18:43 SimConnect Connection Starting.....
16:18:44 SimConnect Message Processing Started
16:18:44 GoFlight Connection Started

16:18:47 Simconnect Version: 3.2.0.0
16:18:47 Synchronising Switches & Selectors .....
16:18:47 SimConnect: Exception Received: OUT_OF_BOUNDS

That last line about 25 times. Then finally 16:19:14 Synchronising Switches & Selectors Complete.

I've been through the dll.xml file, double checked the path names (it was configured automatically during setup anyway), and checked the Visual C redist 2015 x86 installation. I have re-installed EVERYTHING and deleted the Documents/GoFlight Interface tool folder etc.

When I start Prepar3d I get no warnings about loading the DLL. If I go to Options->Add-ons... No addons are listed. If I load GIT while P3D is running, the add-ons drop down appears in Prepar3d with the option to restart.

I am running Prepar3d Professional v3.4.22.19868, SimConnect version 3.4.0.0. GoFlight Interface tool 2.747.1.0, and GFDevP3D data bridge v2.27 build 0. I have a GF-TQ6, GF-LGT II, MESM, 2x GF-T8-2. I have tried having various combinations of these plugged in/unplugged.

Please advise what other information I can provide to try and fix this.

Stefan

  • Hi Stefan, That error is indicating that the GoFlight Interface Module is not running. Its either not listed in dll.xml or it has crashed and been excluded which you will need to fix by looking at the FAQ entry "FSX/P3D/FSX SE Crashes on start up indicating an error with the Goflight Interface Module" here: http://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html Best wishes Steve
  • Hello again,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately as I mentioned I've been through the dll.xml file and it is listed in there in the correct folder, also checked the exe.xml file to make sure it's pointing to the right place; the first thing I did was go through the FAQ and the installation instructions and followed them, and am still having this issue. I didn't mention this but I had already tried deleting that registry key to fix it to no avail. I have tried installing GoFlight and GIT to C:\GoFlight instead of the default, have tried installing and running as and not as an administrator. I have checked the dll.xml files for conflicts, and can't see any.

    Thanks, Stefan
  • The dll is not running. Try disabling all other dll's and just leave the GIT dll present to see if that makes any difference.
  • I have tried many combinations of configuring the two dll.xml files (one in appdata and the other in programdata) including disabling all other dlls with no luck. Is the dll used by GoFlight's standard software? Because I can get my hardware units working using GFConfig without a problem.
    Cheers, Stefan
  • No it isn't. Make a copy of your existing dll file and replace it with this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4kf1rmdo00lbsni/Goflight Interface Module.zip?dl=0 Thx Steve
  • Sure thing! Ran into "Exceeded install count" after re-installing again - could you reset my install count please?

Thanks for your help so far.
    Stefan
  • Your install count has been reset.
  • Hi Steve,

Unfortunately that new .dll didn't work. Same issue.

    Cheers, Stefan
  • OK, in My Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files, edit Simconnect.ini and change the entries as follows:

    [SimConnect]
    level=verbose
    console=1

Start P3D and a DOS window will appear. Once P3D is at the menu screen, mark all then contents in the DOS window (right click in the DOS window, click on the very last line end character and then move the mouse so it highlights up to the beginning of the all text and then press enter). Now paste into a text file and attach on this thread.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,

I've attached the output in trace.txt.

It's trying to load the GIT dll but some dependencies aren't found/loading - so I did an sxstrace which I've attached the relevant part and you can see it's not finding Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.Dll. I tried making a copy of the LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.dll and renaming it to the above but no luck. Also I found the FSX simconnect dll in another folder (from the SimConnect SDK I think), copied that into the GIT install folder, but no luck there either, still saying the same thing. They were long shots and not surprised it didn't work... I'm sure you'll be able to make better sense of this

    Stefan
  • Hi Steve,

Unfortunately still the same problem. Same trace result.

    Cheers,
    Stefan
  • OK, leave it with me, I'll check the build again.
  • Thanks Steve
  • OK, hopefully this has fixed the problem. You will need the VS2013 C++ runtimes installed if they are not already. Link here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4kf1rmdo00lbsni/Goflight Interface Module.zip?dl=0

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks so much! It's working now. Visual studio was already installed so looks like the .dll was the culprit.

    Thanks for the great support,
    Stefan
  • Great. Thanks for lettings me know. I'll include the changes in the next release so you won't have to mess with the software in the future.

    Best wishes
