GIT for P3D V4 v2.747.3.3 intermittent with PMDG 747, but works with PMDG 777

Hi Steve,

I had good success with v2.747.3.3 and PMDG 777, but was getting intermittent functionality with the PMDG 747.

I've checked the 747QOTSII_Options.ini and there is the correct broadcast entry:
[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1

Checking the GIT log and I was getting long list of
"Send Control Data: Too Many Retries"

I exited P3D V4 (21686) and restarted both V4 and GIT. This time GIT worked with the 747.

Once working, it seems fine, no issues.

Cheers, Rob.

  • That error means the 747 was not accepting the Simconnect messages. It could be a glitch with the updated PMDG aircraft for 64bit.

    Need to monitor.

    Thx

  • Just setup a flight in the PMDG 777 from KLAX to KSFO and the route disappeared from the ND after running the GIT (the hotfix with the lastest GIT version). The log indicated a "Simconnect: Exception Received ERROR." WIthout the GIT, everything appears OK--Thanks for any comments

P.S. There are no other addons running and the SDK broadcast option=1
  • Hi Robert,

I suspect there are still issues with P3D and the PMDG port to 64bit. GIT itself is 99.999% the same code; the only changes being some routines to recognise the registry and directories of v4. The big change was the GIT plugin which had to be converted to 64bit, but all PMDG aircraft do not use this. Hence why I think these issues are nothing to do with GIT.

Please make notes of issues and how to reproduce them and we can forward them on to P3D and PMDG.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Update--Both the PMDG 747 and 777 exhibit the same behavior--missing route with the GIT is running. This occurs with the HotFix for v4, updated GF, GIT, and fsuipc drivers--
  • See my response in PM. There is an issue with GF drivers (detect and think I have FSX-SE installed when I don't) but I don't "think" it has any impact. My only other thoughts is possible Power State options resetting the route? Do you start GIT before or after P3D? I'll try to confirm tonight, but I'm actually working on something for Captain Sim tonight so not sure if I'll have time to test.
  • It could be that starting GIT after the flight sim is triggering some kind of reset event in the aircraft when the PMDG SDK is initialised. Like I said, the GIT code for the PMDG aircraft has not changed and I suspect these are bugs in P3D or the aircraft port to 64bit.

It's very important that you let me know how to replicate this issue. What steps do you take from start to finish.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Update--Apparently it was a problem with the initial loading of the aircraft (after the GIT had been opened). Following setting up and activation of the route, the MCP switched into "APP" mode. Why it did this is unknown--Thanks for all the comments--
