New Installation question

Just installed this as I have just bought a GF-46 that I would like to use in XP11.

In the user guide it says For DRE Mimic Mode to work, the DataRef Editor Plugin must be physically removed from X-Plane. Disabling it will not work.

I have looked in the /Resources/Plugins folder and cannot find the plugin anywhere.

I'm I looking in the right place?

  • Hi,

Yes, but it won't be there unless you installed it in the first place, so if you cannot see it, don't worry.

FYI, The GF46 alerting service is broken, but I'm about to release a new version that fixes it within 24hrs so keep a look out for it. Normal operation of the GF46 is OK though.

  • Ok, thanks. I have read the different documents on the website, and have worked out how to set the labels up and get get values to display , but am having trouble setting the rotate control to change values.

My aim is to set the GF-46 up to handle autopilot information such as heading , Alt etc . Also it seems every time I load up xplane with the GIT running I have to manually go in and select the device and enable it which seems a bit strange
  • No you don't, the device status is only updated on screen when you pick a device so the screen is disabled and the status says disabled but your device is not actually disabled. When you pick device 0 it should change to enabled.

  • Ahh, ok I see.

I don't know why but I'm struggling to get the hang of the configuration on the modules.
There seems so many parameters within the list , and some of them are very similar

Could you possibly give me an example of say , setting the GF46 to display autopilot alt (and be able to edit it with the knob) and also maybe setting the first button my P8 to switch on and off the landing Beacon light. Once I see how it's done , I should be ok.
  • Function Name: ALT
    Display Data: sim/cockpit/autopilot/altitude
Rotary Event (Left Knob/Non pushed): CLOCKWISE, sim/autopilot/altitude_up
    Rotary Action: ROTATE
Rotary Event (Left Knob/Non pushed): ANTICLOCKWISE, sim/autopilot/altitude_down
    Rotary Action: ROTATE
  • Thanks, i will try that. Silly question but the GF46 only has one knob and its on the right, so why is there options for left and right knobs?
  • Fixed in the release just put up now. The GF46 code reverted to some beta dev phase for some reason. Not sure why or when it happened but its all OK now.

  • I have just tried the example you gave with the alt and after I set the clockwise event to sim/autopilot/altitude_up , when I got to set the Alticlockwise event , it clears the clockwise event so I can't set both the way I should
  • It should retain the value of the previous selection, even though it isn't displayed. I have both set to do the test for you, although only one dataref shows at a time.

    Best wishes
