GoFlight hardware & GIT Software interfacing with X-Plane Issues

Hi Steve,

If you would look into the issues that I have in getting the GoFlight instrumentation to work with X-Plane via the GIT it would be very much appreciated.
Attached is a PDF document outlining the system hardware, software GoFlight modules and the simulator power up and results.
In addition are video captures, I thought might be of use in your evaluation process.

Should you need any additional information please let me know.

Thanks
Rene

PS: The link that you provided for the download of GIT 1.9.1.0 worked perfectly.
Thanks Again

  • Hi,

Are you saying that it all worked in 1.8 and the upgrade has caused it to break. If not, have you enabled and configured the devices? It is just the LED's/displays not working or do the buttons and rotaries work OK?

The is no joystick and thus no TPM support in GIT for X-Plane, although it is planned for the future. The GF-ATC is not supported in any version of GIT as the GoFlight SDK has not opened it up to access.

    Best wishes

  • 1. Nothing has worked rotaries or toggle switches, LED's or displays with 1.8 or 1.9.
    2. I will go through the "Configuring GoFlight Devices" instructions again. I might have overlooked something.
Thanks for getting back to me.
    3. Have to get to the farming tasks (mother nature does not wait)
    4. Will get back to you in a few days.
    Best Regards
    Rene
  • Do the following:

    - Make sure none of the devices are plugged into USB3 ports. It must be USB 2 from the device all the way back to the PC.
    - Test you do not have the Windows 10 LED/Display issue by downloading the GoFlight Drivers from their website and using GFConfig, click on each device displayed and make sure the LED's light up. If they don't, you need to run Windows8Fixer.cmd (part of the GoFlight Drivers) as Administrator. If they still do not light up, unplug the devices and run Windows8Fixer.cmd again. Plug in the devices and test again. Repeat as necessary.
    - Work with the default baron and the GF166 to start. Click the COM button on the GF166 tab to configure as radios. Enable the device in GIT. Quit GIT and re-load it. The GF166 should work the radios now.

  • I have Windows 10 installed after a long time away from the simulator. Now that I have a full size mock up of a generic cockpit, running X-Plane and accessories on 5pcs and 10 screens, I am all set to FLY and can't get the MCP Pro to work properly. On default 747, I can get the MPC Pro to control default 747's MCP, but the digits on the unit don't change. I have the latest revision of the GoFlight Interface Tool for X-Plane loaded (1.9.21), and both that tool and X-plane are loaded with administrator privileges. It is odd that the MCP Pro lights up though the device isn't set to active in the GIT immediately at start, though the tab is live. Have tested tool to clear registry for Win 8/10, no difference. At this point, I'm considering reloading Windows 7 for a dual boot machine, but I want to know if my symptoms would warrant that or is possibly the MCP Pro? All lights and digits do work on the MCP Pro, it just seems like it's the signaling coming back to display on the unit. Confirmed USB1 or USB2 connections only.
  • That strange. Have you tried clicking the FS Default button on the MCP PRO tab of GIT, then quit GIT and reload it.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Yes, I have done that. I've also tried loading the other custom configs for other aircraft and that doesn't work at all. I'm open to trying anything you think will work to test it.
  • You haven't got the MCP set to AV_ENABLED in GIT instead of ENABLED?
  • No, I select ENABLED each time I start GIT.
  • I get the same result using AV_ENABLED. The last thing in the log says "Synchonizing Switches & Selectors Complete". That is the last line with nothing after it:
    18:52:40 Aircraft Changed
18:52:40 XPlane: Event Received: Sim State 1
18:53:06 Synchronising Switches & Selectors Complete
  • Try this GoFlight test utility and make sure the displays are working OK on your Windows 10 PC: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n1hw4huebtuwgqz/MCPProChkA25.zip?dl=0

  • I did - all lights lit up and all digit displays look normal with zeros.
  • Is your GoFlight gear running on your main X-Plane PC along with GIT?
  • Yes, it is plugged in directly into the primary PC with the sim and GIT.

Try running GIT and X-Plane as administrator in case its a security issue.

    Thx
    Steve
  • I have done that as well. I was pulling my hair out cause I thought sure the suggestions here in the forum would get me going. I'm definitely up for letting you tap into my PC again if you want - we did that in the past.
  • rcfastmover,

I am upgrading my pc to a windows 10 version and have to start from scratch loading programs as I too had WIN 7. I am a bit nervous based on what is happening to you. Steve, do you have many customers running WIN 10? If so, what version of GIT do you advise?

    Scott
  • Can you go into Detective and turn on monitoring. Do you see any dataref changes?

    Thx
