1st December: A new version of the GoFlight Interface Tool for MSFS is now available.
12th November: A new version of the GoFlight Interface Tool for X-Plane is now available.
6th June: A new version of Virtual Flight Sim Hardware is now available (huge update)
21st November: A new version of the GoFlight Interface Tool for FSX/FSXSE/P3D is now available.
GoFlight forums don't exist and I can't get a hold of them - out of business?
Sorry to post this here but I don't know where to go since GoFlights web site "login" just doesn't work and neither does that support ticket system and phone calls never get answered.
I'm getting this error fairly regularly:
Activation context generation failed for "d:\goflight\GFDevFSXSE.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1ed9da73c880e429",type="win32",version="10.0.62615.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
Which causes a P3D V4 CTD. What puzzles me is that I don't have FSXSE on my PC, never have. The ONLY simulator info path I have defined in GFConfig is for P3D, nothing else.
Checked my EXE.XML and it's pointing to the correct EXE ... GFDevP3DV4.exe so I have NO idea why I'm getting this error?
I am getting a little frustrated over the complete lack of GoFlight support/response ... I am sorry to use your forum for this Steve, but I really don't know where to go next?
Rob.

That implies the FSX SE Data bridge is trying to start up and without the SE simconnect.dll present its crashing. When does this happen? You haven't mapped a key to start this program by accident?
As an interim solution I would delete GFDevFSXSE.exe as you don't need it.
Best wishes
Steve
Sorry for my outburst in frustration (I'll try calling GF again on Monday) ... in further testing, and this is somewhat interesting, after renaming the GFDevFSXSE.exe to GFDevFSXSE_exe.ORG, then start P3D V4, load any PMDG aircraft and the MFD/PFDs are all blank (it's not the copy protection kicking in, as all other aspects of the aircraft work). If I rename the GFDevFSXSE_EXE.ORG back to original name GFDevFSXSE.EXE and repeat, Load P3D V4, load any PMDG aircraft, and everything is functional.
So I guess the question is, why? Is this a PMDG issue, a GF issue, or maybe even GIT?
I've seen several other products have similar issues where they report my FS version as FSX-SE (Virtual Avionics, PMDG/GF, UTLive) ... I don't really know why unless they are using some version of SimConnect that is part of the FSX-SE product?? I'm guessing there is something "global" (best compatibility) about the FSX-SE SimConnect? If so, I've never installed FSX-SE on my system so I would not have that "version" of SimConnect which maybe why I'm seeing these errors in my OS Event Log.
I know A LOT of 3rd party devs continue to use legacy SimConnect because it allows for multiple platform connectivity (they don't have to distribute multiple platform specific EXEs), I hope that changes, but I think that is perhaps the source of my issue here?
As you know a V4.1 is in Beta which fixes a few issues with Legacy SimConnect, I haven't been able to test that as I'm currently doing other "work" for LM and PC Pilot so I need a "relatively" stable working FS environment.
Cheers, Rob.
That first paragraph makes no sense at all because the GoFlight drivers have no PMDG support in them.
Have you checked that the data bridge running is for P3D (blue/black aircraft icon in notification area) and click show device config? Is it loading the correct config? What is running in task manager related to the data bridges?
Normally the FSX SP2 Simconnect is used for universal compatibility not FSX SE.
Best wishes

Yeah, I know I'm sounding frustrated but I'm almost at the point of looking elsewhere for alternate cockpit solutions. Calls and emails to GoFlight are going no where.
Cheers, Rob.
I can't comment on the quality of support at GoFlight as I've never used it. I can only suggest you try the support options here: https://goflightinc.com/support/ or contact Tony, the CEO at GoFlight.
If you tell me what you are doing/running with versions (keep it to a minimum of add-ons please) and when it occurs I can try and emulate at my end and at least eliminate/blame GIT.
Best wishes
Steve
The solution to this problem (suggest by GF support) was to uninstall GF 2.28.0.0, reboot, re-install GF 2.28.0.0 and reboot. Testing with P3D V4 and PMDG, no more errors in my OS Event Log ... problem solved but I don't understand why (binary compare of installer was identical) ... but I'm not going to dig, hoping the issue stays away.
Cheers, Rob.

Does GIT make any references at all to GFDevFSXSE.EXE?
Cheers, Rob.
Cheers, Rob.
There are no references to GoFlight software, only the GFDev.dll file that is the developer SDK from GoFlight.
Can you not repeat GoFlights previous fix and then remove GFDevFSXSE?
Best wishes
Steve
Unfortunately I haven't been able to determine what is trying to access GFDevFSXSE ... removing the file causes all kinds of chaos when starting PMDG aircraft. Unfortunately it could be many things, FSUIPC, UTLive, ChasePlane, PMDG. I'll keep testing and try to isolate.
Cheers, Rob.
microsoft offers a toolbox called Sysinternals Suite (for free dl at ms site). It contains a little program called progmon.exe, you can use it to track the process calling the GFDevFSXSE-File from your harddrive. It's very powerfull, but still easy to use.
Good Luck
Martin
