No Display Updates since going on v2.0.0.0

Hi Steve,

I just bought the PMDG 777 and activated the Data broadcast like I allready used it with the 737NG and the 744 QotS II. After having trouble connecting, I decided to update all components to the latest version PMDG as well as your great Interface tool.
I now have the situation, that I can enter data via the Engravity CDU, but the Screen is frozen. I get a single screen Update, when I choose save settings from your tool, but afterwards there are no updates for the screen.

What did I change?
- All was running fine (PMDG 737NG (v1.20.8396) & 744 (3.00.8382) - Interface V 1.747.0.0)
- Installation PMDG B777 (V.1.10.8414)
- Error no Screen Updates with B777 CDU
- Updte Interface to V. 2.0.0.0
- No Change - error persists
- Update PMDG 737NG to 1.20.8413 & 744 to 3.00.8415
- Now the Error is also present with the 737NG & B744
- Input OK but no Screen updates - usually stays blank

Could you please advise, what I can try to get it running? May I provide data to you, for trouble shooting? If yes, what do you need?

Thanks a lot for your engagement.

Kind regards
Martin

  • Hi Martin,

I presume pressing EXEC + S displays the setup screen OK and you have checked all the baud rates etc in the driver, the settings tab and the CDU as these may have reset/changed.

What version of Flight Sim are you using so I can check at my end.

    Thx
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,

yes, I checked also the baud rates etc. and that fits together. I found the most interesting part, that after saving the settings, the unit is reseted and exactly once the display content is received from PMDG/ simconnect and sent to the engravity CDU but any update is stuck. On the "overview" tab I have "three greens" in a row for CDU, simconnect and PMDG model.

I use a P3Dv3 on Win 8.1 64bit. If you need the exact build of P3Dv3 I have to check it, as soon as I am back on my FS machine, but this is the only app in the chain I have not updated to the latest version while looking for a solution yesterday.

    Thank you
    Martin
  • Hi Steve,

just for beeing sure, here my detailed Versions:
    P3Dv3 3.4.9.18400
SimConnect 3.4.0.0 (as stated in the P3D about dialog box)

    Best

  • OK. I tested the 777 on P3Dv4 last night using an older 777 version and then the latest update and it worked OK. I will test with P3Dv3 now I know what you are using.

I presume you have checked the FAQ entries here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/engravity-cdu-pmdg-interface/26-installation/71-faq-engravity-cdu-pmdg-interface.html

    Thx
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,

yes I worked through the FAQ.

    Thanks for trying to reproduce
    Martin
  • Hi Steve,

I feel really sorry for bothering you with a dumb error of mine. I found the error - I used the wrong interface version. Until I installed the trippleseven and updated the other two planes on sunday the FSX version of your interface tool just worked fine with P3Dv3 and PMDG.
I just checked all 3 planes with the P3D version of your tool and everything works fine.
Probably this is another good check for the FAQ - be sure to use the right version for your sim.

Please accept my excuse for this kind of stupidity.

Keep up the good work, I enjoy using your tool very much.

    Best
    Martin
