Programming of MCP Advanced

I have 2 MCP's 'Advanced' (the '2 module size', the original black ones) that I use in my overhead panel. As a 'real' MCP I use a CPFlight unit.

I don't seem to be able to program these MCP's, as they are 'preprogrammed' to behave as 'real' MCP's. I can't find a way around this; am I missing something?

Regards, Bert

  • Hi Bert,

For PMDG and iFly aircraft they are pre-programmed. All other aircraft, you can program the MCP. Make sure you have set the MCP to compatible add-on in GFConfig.

  • Hi Steve, thanks for your quick response. Just to be sure: does this mean I cannot program these MCP's (I have two, would be 'silly' :-) not to reprogram at least one of them; and I don't need either, as I have a CPFlight MCP), or that I can reprogram them when I set the MCP to "compatible add-on"?

    Regards, Bert
  • Answer ✓
Yes, you can use GIT to reprogram them so long as GFConfig has been set to compatiable add-on, otherwise the GoFlight drivers will run the MCP as an MCP. PMDG and iFly aircraft autoconfigure to an MCP in GIT.

  • Hi Steve, clear & the answer I was hoping for. Nice piece of software by the way; I've been programming a lot in Lua/FSUIPC over the past few years, also using Linda as that interface is a bit more user friendly. The advantage of your user interface is that it is flexible and that it is also possible to program the lights in a relatively straightforward way. Thanks again, regards, Bert
  • FYI - The latest release of GIT has Lua built in now.
  • Thanks; saw it; will have a look how to use it and whether I can use my own code.
