Unable to do anything in GIT after fresh installs.
Hey everyone,
I'm relatively new to GIT but I'm using the 737 by Zibo. About a week ago i had absolutely no issues with importing downloaded configs or importing single panels. I was trying to clean up my folders and honestly I had so much stuff laying around in my directories I cleaned up a few things and messed something up. Here is what I did to try and fix it. I re downloaded ACF files, redownloaded the config files. I uninstalled GIT and GO FLIGHT Drivers via there own unistallers. Then I went in and cleaned up my documents folders. I wanted to start fresh so I could organize everything in a much better way now that I've had some practice with it. The first attached image is the error I receive when I try importing the config off of the pollypot website. Secondly, I tried to extract the files and import it that way and this is the error I get. The last image is a copy of GIT while running X-Plane 11. Everything I have is recognized. I've put so much hard work into this. It also doesn't seem to want to accept any inputs from GIT. It knows that my stuff is there. I can identify them all but when I assign controls to things like simple rotaries, I'm getting no input in the sim. I hope you can help.
Also, It is not asking for my account key even though I'm completely removing the program and then reinstalling. I'm not just simply overwriting it. Could that be why it's not letting me do anything?
Thanks,
Justin

Unable to save setttings is a bug I found at the weekend. I'm hoping to get a fix out this week. What I found is that running the wizard again after getting that error, resulted in it loading OK. Have you tried that?
Best wishes
Steve
Can't help you with the key issue (which I'm sure Steve will) but if the import didn't work then it's unlikely the device imports will work.
Which version of Zibo's mod have you installed? The profile on the GIT download page is for version 3.06r or earlier.
I started a new thread for the Zibo 3.10 or greater (Zibo's B737 X-Plane 3.10o Alpha) and now Zibo is up to 3.20g. In that thread I've attached a new zip file for the profile. It also contains 2 additional files that are required specifically for GIT to recognise the commands and DREDatarefs.
The commands.txt and DREDatarefs.txt files need to be copied to the B738 aircraft folder every time you update the version.
The error you're getting to load configuration data for the MCP-PRO can be caused by a couple of things, but generally the bespoke events are not defined or commands are not defined. In your case because the original import failed I'd hazard a guess at the bespoke events aren't set up.
Steve will be able to help on the key issue and when that's resolved, I'd try importing again.
Let us know how you get on.
Thanks.
David
Thanks,
Justin
I'm having trouble re-creating this error. I saw it once only and no matter what I do, it will not reoccur. Can you provide an example that always gives the error?
Thanks
Steve
Ok, so I had some time to get back to it and try a few different things that I can think of try and eliminate some stuff. Here is what I found last night that is different from anytime running GIT. By the way, thanks for your reply David. I'm not quite there yet, but thanks. Ok, here we go and I hope explain this well enough.
I've reinstalled everything from the go flight drivers to GIT. Oddly, when I run the installer, everything seems to be in working condition, meaning I don't get any errors of a potential bad install. I ran the installer again Steve and nothing. Weirdly, when I try to delete the leftover UN-installer and folder, it pops up an error telling me I can't delete cause I don't have admin access to the extracted folder. It's not my computer name though. I'm assuming yours Steve. When I get home tonight, I'll snap a pic of it if you want to see. The only way I can get rid of that particular folder is to shred it through McAfee. It's just the folder. Everything else deletes and it doesn't matter whether I try to delete as admin or remove it from the UN-installer in the control panel
Here is the other notable mention. I stripped everything from plugins in X-Plane 11, installed fresh again, installed go flight drivers. LED's and Displays work when I try to identify through GIT. I went back to the default 737 cause that's where I started learning. I knew there were some custom commands etc but I could still assign the default values to stuff and they would work. The one thing I noticed different last night, is when I hit the default fs button nothing happens. It doesn't matter what I'm trying to do. It will not assign default values to anything. All of boxes that hold the dataref values are left blank after clicking that button. It's like they don't exist.
I've got 11 panels in a pedestal base and they are all recognized and identifiable but I can't do anything in GIT. I've even got a YouTube video that shows it all working like 3 days ago, but!! I think that was 1.9.1.0 maybe? It was not the updated version. Steve do we, or could I have access to see if the older version works? I'm besides myself considering how much money Ive invested for things not to work at all. The only difference in the scenarios from working to not working, was I uninstalled and deleted it all to start fresh. That was the only change in the computer. I hope that helps shed a little more light from more testing. Surely, I should be able to Un-install and reinstall with no problems. I'm starting to lean a little more towards figuring out why there's admin access on the folder and maybe an underlying reason I'm not getting all of the files in the initial install no matter how many times I run as administrator.
Thanks for the replies,
Justin
It does sound like you have security issues on your PC.
Remove GoFlight Drivers and GIT and install in C:\GoFlight so security does not interfere. Rename Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool and then start GIT and X-Plane back up and see what happens.
Best wishes
Steve
NOTE: If anyone else stumbles across the said problems in the earlier post, delete, uninstall, backup your exports and reinstall into a directory or folder different than the program files or x86 directory. Just create one and install there. It has seemingly fixed my problems and I'm off to the races. Thanks for the suggestions Steve.
David - I'm now to your suggestions now and i'm looking into updating some of those commands and Datarefs. Thanks everyone.
