Crash when selecting SimConnect Events and LVAR monitoring

I am using the A2A Cessena 182. When I try to select a simconnect value for a switch on any panel from MCP to GF Switch/Button to LGT2 GIT tool crashes instantly. I am in Prepar3d V4.1. I have tried everything and still get the same response.

Additionally the LVAR monitoring instantly crashes GIT. I set the refresh rate to the lowest and it still has the same problem. I know there are a lot of LVARs with the A2A but about a month ago I had no issues at all when using the detective and the Commanche 250.

Thanks,
Brian

  • What have you changed on your system when it started to go wrong - new version of GIT or A2A?

  • I have the same problem. GIT is crashing frequently since update to version 3.4.4.0
Nothing else is changed. I have although installed Prepar3D V.4.1
  • I moved everything to a new system so its all fresh install since the 3.4.4.0 update. I built the computer on Tuesday and was programming switches in GIT by Saturday night. No issues with any other software to note so it's hard to compare to the other system which I used to research some Commanche LVARs and test a few GoFlight switches. Don't worry I uninstalled on my other computer before moving over to the new computer, as to not use it on two computers :)

I uninstalled all GIT and GoFlightConfig to see if issues keep happening. Reinstalled and still have the same issues. Simconnect choices will not crash every time but if I program 2 or 3 switches without closing and reopening it will crash on the second or third one. It will do it with my custom bespoke events as well. I noticed this recently. As soon as I choose the event/action from the drop down it locks up and crashes. Which is frustrating b/c I notice if you don't close the program before a crash you lose all data created before a proper shut down. Including bespoke events.

The LVAR monitoring straight crashes GIT as soon as you turn it on. If I run SPAD.next and do LVAR monitoring I have no issues.
  • And all this was happening before I installed SPAD.next - The crashes were happening prior to any SPAD.next issues. I only installed it to see if the LVAR tracing worked there or if it was a C182 issue.
  • I'll look into the crash issues with 3.4.4.0 and come back to you.

  • OK, I cannot create the issue in the dev environment, but using the customer release which has been copy protected I see the issue, so it looks like obfuscation has caused the problem.

I will get a new release out asap.

    Thx

  • I have just uploaded a new version of GIT for P3Dv4 only. Let me know if this resolves the problems. If not let me know what they are if different than discussed previously.

    Thx

  • Did the new version fix the errors?

    Thx

  • It does not seem that any of the builds have helped the issues. I have not been able to test the simconnect issue since my latest install but now I have an import problem. I am building my simulator and so I tested some switches on one PC, uninstalled. Put the cockpit together, installed on the new Flight Sim PC and programmed all my modules (This is where I had the LVAR and lock up issues when programming switches back to back). So, since then I have cleaned off the Flight Sim PC and did a reinstall now that I have all the software I want figured out. Upon reinstalling GIT I can't import anything. I am attaching screenshots of the errors I get. I try to import Bespoke events and get the "Parameter name: s" error. Try to import the MCPPRO and get the capture.png error. I assume that's b/c my Bespoke events didn't import. Capture2.png is the LVAR screen when it locks up. And Capture3.png is where it's headed after that lock up. I am attaching all the files to the post. The exports were done on the same machine right before I formatted and did a total clean install.

    Thanks,
    Brian
  • I have replicated the issue. It looks like the code changes in 3.4.4.0 have caused a deadlock situation in some situations. I will debug and get a fix up asap.

  • Ok, I have fixed the issue. In the end It was an updated c# class from a 3rd party that was causing the lock up. I will do some more testing tomorrow and then release it by the evening.

  • Alright. I updated to 3.4.7 and my import issues went away.
  • Detective is still crashing with that version though. The next version will fix that.

  • New version is up that should fix all the issues mentioned in this thread. Please confirm.

    Thanks

  • thanks for the fix. I will definitely test everything but I can't register my software bc its saying i exceeded the number of installs. Guessing it is bc i uninstall and reinstall for each version. I submitted a request about a day ago.
  • I have reset your install count. I haven't received a message about you needing this done.
