A/T does not stay engaged

Hi there, I am using pollypots software as an interface between Goflight MCP Pro panel and PMDG NGX 737. Everything works perfectly with one very annoying exception. The A/T will not stay engaged. When the physical switch is put into ON position, it is recognised by PMDG and flicks momentarily into ON position, but then immediately flicks into OFF position. If I use the mouse to engage A/T, then it stays on as required. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Many tnx in advance and kind regards. Alex.

  • Hi Alex,

If the A/T switch is not staying engaged in the VC then you have not configured the aircraft correctly for A/T use (programmed the FMC and setup up the MCP etc). Its not a GIT or MCP PRO issue.

  • Hi Steve - thank you for such a prompt response. If your suggestion is correct, then how can I explain the fact that the A/T engages and stays engaged with the mouse in VC and 2D main panel? Would it not also disengage if the aircraft is not correctly configured? Tnx and cheers, Alex.
  • You either have a faulty switch or some other software is also driving the MCP PRO A/T such as FSUIPC.

Test your switch with GoFlights test software here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n1hw4huebtuwgqz/MCPProChkA25.zip?dl=0

  • Hi Steve - thank you for the advice, and for providing the utility tool. I've checked the hardware. The switch is definitely good. Can you plz give me some direction for how to establish what else might be controlling the panel. The pollypots software appears to be not configurable for the MCP Pro panel... And I did not deliberately program either Linda or FSUIPC to control any aspect of the MCP. So far as I know it was just plug and play using default pollypots settings. I would be extremely grateful for any direction. Many tnx in advance and kind regards, Alex.

Try the switch without GIT running and see if it does something. If not, then the switch must be sending erroneous signals and I'm not sure anything can be done about that.

PS: You could try renaming Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool so that GIT starts with a blank config and see what happens when you re-enable the MCP PRO.
