Compatibility with SPADNext?

Hi Steve,
You might recall an issue I had in July which in some way righted itself after reinstalling all manner of software:
https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/vanillaforums/discussion/670/why-is-my-mcp-pro-adjusting-all-dialed-inputs-in-increments-of-threes#lates.
Since then, I've moved house, been busy at work and so not had much time to get back to simming. I now have time since a couple of weeks and decided however to fresh install everything from Windows 10 (64bit) to all of my sim software. Yet again, after many hours of looking at this forum, Avsim, etc etc.., I have the same issue as July! I have the latest GoFlight drivers, GIT version 3.4.1, latest PMDG 737NGX (fresh download), latest P3D v4.0.28.21686. I can't help, but wonder if there is some conflict with SPADNext? Please advise - thanks.

  • I suspect some software is enabling control acceleration in Simconnect. Do you still have the test version I sent you to try?

    Thx
    Steve
  • Hi Steve, I think so. I'll take a look and let you know. Thanks.
  • Hi again, no, I don't have it and I guess the link expired.
  • OK, I'm currently mid development for a new build so I can't get a test version out to you until the end of the week.

In the mean time, you could create a lua file containing:

    sendevt("EVT_CTRL_ACCELERATION_DISABLE", MOUSE_LEFTSINGLE)

and then run it when the problem arises in the NGX to see if it fixes the issue.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Delighted Steve, if only I knew what that meant! :-) Do you have a quick guide to show me how?
  • This will be your best bet, just copy and paste my code above instead of the example code: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/43-lua/129-your-first-lua-script.html

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve, completed your suggestion; no joy. Just the same.
  • Something must be continually turning control acceleration on. I'll get a test version of GIT out to you asap.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Thanks Steve.
  • HI Steve, any joy with this?
  • It will be the end of the week as I said.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi Steve, you actually wrote 'I'll get a test version of GIT out to you asap.', plus it is the end of the week (nearly!). :-)
  • I have PM'd you a link.

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Good morning Steve, trust you're well! I've em'd support requesting help reinstalling (registration issue). If you could please have a look and get back to me asap I'll be most grateful. Many thanks. Kevin.
  • Hi Steve, trust you're well!

Still having a frustrating time here! I have sent the following message to SPADNext in hope of a sensible solution. For reference, I believe that the issue is certainly caused by SPADNext, not the GIT. I only wish there was a way in which I could either get SPADNext to completely ignore my GoFlight kit OR, find another software to manage my radios and Switch Panel. Just a thought, but I wondered if you might have any suggestions? GIT does exactly what it should do until I start up SPADNext! I've attached log files that might help.

    Message to SPADNext:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled my flight s sim and all other software countless times since last October and always end up with the same issue, which seems to be that SPADNext totally screws with my MCP Pro. Having started the sim, loaded and initialised PMDG 737, started the GoFlight interface, everything is fine. Then, when I start SPADNext, it totally screws up the MCP Pro! I've researched, looked at your site, AVSIM and others and cannot find the reason. Whatever I try I end up with the same issue.

    Many thanks,
    Kevin.
  • In the SPAD.neXt.conf file, can you not change the line:

    <Option Key="GoFlight.Activated.MCP" Value="True" />

    so that Value="False"

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,
Do you mean that I CAN change the line?
    Best wishes
    Kevin.
  • Hi Steve,
I assumed you meant that I could change it, so I did. You're a GENIUS! It seems to work (certainly on first attempt). Hopefully it won't change the config file when I reboot in future!
Thanks a million Steve! Have a great weekend!
    Cheers!
    Kevin.
  • Excellent!
