Rotaries- My arch nemesis
Hello, ----GIT for X-Plane 11
Steve and fellow bang their head against the wall go flight sim users.. HAHA.. I'm on a roll. Ok .. I've looked and searched the forums for anything regarding general use of rotaries. I didn't really find exactly the same scenario, or at least mine doesn't work like its supposed and Imagine I'm missing a step. Here is what I'm doing and what happens as a result.
I'm trying to work on the CRJ-200 and provide a few files for the use of any community members that may be interested in having them complete with all working rotaries and some extras that you can assign yourself and customize for your own use as well as the autopilot converted over to work with the MCP-pro in a thought out way.
In any case of me using any rotaries here are the steps and Steve maybe you could allude as to why the rotate command doesn't work.
Usually in every case I'll set 2 bespoke events, lets say one event for OBS R and another for OBS L. I'll set both rotaries clockwise and anticlockwise to have the rotate command. I'm using custom datarefs from the CRJ list, and of course when I set it to go right or left it takes for ever to rotate around and does not speed up like I assume it's supposed too. Am I missing something when it comes to setting the rotate command. Do I need to add something in the actual setting up of the event?
Thanks and by the way, I've recorded 4 tutorials that will start upload this coming week totally dedicated to X-Plane. I've learned a lot by constantly reading others and their problems. I didn't know anything about this before I jumped in and now I'm doing my own planes and setting up some very cool events with my GF panels. Thanks to you Steve for your tireless effort, support, and thanks to the community of users that pass knowledge down to us new users willingly, so we can learn and pass what we learn to the next set of simmers. Thanks everyone.

Try adding a Sleep task into each of the Bespoke Events such as Sleep 5.
When updating Datarefs quickly such as when used with a rotatory, the previous change may have not been processed before the next change starts occurring so its constantly updating the same value so it appears to be slow.
Always see if a Command does the same job as altering a Dataref and if so, always use the Command as its faster and more efficient.
Best wishes
Steve
