MCP & EFIS greyed out - dashes only in MCP displays

Hi Steve,
Thanks to SPADNext being a constant pain in my side, I'm forever reinstalling it. Finally got it to work, but it's 'knocked out' my GIT software somehow - only explanation as it was working perfectly fine before reinstalling it after 'fixing' SPad. I have only dashes in my displays in the MCP and both MCP and EFIS greyed out in the interface. I've attached a log - any ideas?
Cheers,
Kevin.

  • Its not in Sim Mode (16:21:11 SimConnect: Event Received: SIM, 0). You need the aircraft to be showing its cockpit.

    Best wishes
    Stev
  • Hi Steve,
Duh.. of course! However, I still have the same issue with cockpit open - please see log.
    Thanks
    Kevin.
  • Have you checked the steps in the FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/41-faq/70-faq.html
  • Good morning Steve,
Went through above, no joy. Reinstalled and no idea what's happening, but the GIT now unresponsive completely other than going around in a loop. I tried to copy the log, but it kept going around in circles so I managed to get a screen capture - see attached. I had to close it via Task Manager.
    Cheers,
    Kevin.
  • That's very odd behaviour. Try renaming the directory Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool to anything you like and try again.
  • Hi Steve,
I'm now away for three weeks travelling. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try in on my return and let you know.
    All the best
    Kevin.
  • Hi Steve,
    Hope you're well!
Back from the US and tried above suggestion, no joy! Reinstalled both config and tool, no dashes, absolutely nothing in fact! Tool just locks up and has to be closed via task manager. I've attached a couple files that might help? Any suggestions very welcome!
    Cheers,
    Kevin.
  • **UPDATE**
    Hi Steve,
For no reason other than trying everything possible, I unplugged the EFIS and MCP and plugged them in elsewhere. Lo and behold, now working! Weird beyond understanding! No idea why that would be the case, but I'm not complaining! I'll test when I have the time and let you know if I have any issues.
    Cheers,
    Kevin.
  • Hi Kevin,

It could be the devices did not install correctly or you were using USB 3 ports previously??!!

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi Steve,

The devices were still plugged into the original ports (when everything worked fine) and indeed, both are USB2 ports.

    Best wishes,
    Kevin.
