Garbled displays on the Goflight MCP pro when turning rotary knobs.

Hi. Having a small issue with GIT and PMDG ngx in FSX steam. when I select a value on any rotary input on the MCPPRO the numbers display are garbled until I stop turning the rotary knob then it correctly displays the final value, the MCP also seems to lock after a short time. Any ideas, I can't see anything on the forums - the last time used it (Sunday) after a lock up I restarted Go flight and GIT and it worked correctly with no issues. I am not now sure if this has resolved itself or if I will have issues next time?

  • Hi Bob,

This usually happens if the GoFlight drivers are driving the MCP as well as GIT. Please make sure the MCP PRO is set to compatible add-on in the FSX SE tab of GFConfig and this config is loaded into GFConfig before running GIT. You can usually be sure by starting FSX SE first and GIT afterwards and the MCP PRO should show dashes. When GIT loads the displays will be blank or zeroes.

If your MCP PRO has firmware below A25 then it will lock up on occasion. It is a hardware problem resolved with the firmware A25. You can slow down the MCP PRO using the two sliders on the MCP PRO tab if it locks up a lot.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Steve. Thanks, I have checked the settings you have suggested and it looks like I have them set correctly. I have found that if I start FS set up the flight, stop and restart go flight and the GIT all seems to work fine, I can live with that now I know the startup procedure that works for my system.
    Thanks for the speedy response.
