Is it necessary to have GIT running before starting X-Plane 11?

My GF-P8 is not seen by X-Plane 11 unless GIT is running with three green lights and the GF-P8 is Enabled in GIT. Why doesn't the plug-in work without GIT running as well.

    GIT consists of the main app and the plugin. Both need to be running. You can minimise the GIT app to the notification bar.

    ??? Hmmm?? Don't understand the question or the answer. :/
    I have GIT and start it after Xplane 11. Is that incorrect? Everything seems to be working. What is the plugin?

    Any order works. The plugin is a dll file that runs within X-Plane. GIT wouldn't work at all if you did not have the plugin running.
