  • Thank you David,

how I should import this settings in GIT? Can I also use the B738X 2.98C?

    Best regards,
    Martin
  • Martin,
I've done a flight with B738X 2.98d and have just downloaded 2.98f. Should work ok.

The most important piece that needs to be in place before you start GIT is the Commands.txt file. You must copy that to the aircraft\Boeing B738-800X directory. The file that's in the zip is from version 2.97 but will still work with 2.98. The difference is that Zibo created 3 new commands for toe brakes (which I don't use). You can always create your own by making a copy of B738_Commands.txt and renaming the copy to Commands.txt. You'll need to do that every time you update to a later version.

You can use the Import Wizard on the Status page and browse to the zip file. You can then select the devices that you want configured.
I've found an issue with this method, in that, it creates a file called Command.txt in aircraft\Boeing B738-800X directory which shouldn't be there. Delete the Command.txt being sure you leave the Commands.txt file there. Restart GIT and everything was alright.

The other way to install is to unpack the zip file into Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool, enable the specific device and import the xml from Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks.

    David
  • Have successfully tested with Zibo's Boeing B738-800X 3.05g and GIT 1.9.0.0.

    Thanks.
  • Hi David,

now it work fine. It was a problem with the installation.

    Thank you very much! :)

  • Hello David.
First off thank you so much for making the MCP Profile for the Zibo. I was wondering if you could update the profile to fix the new HDG Dial bug that has been introduced in Zibo 3.10b. The dataref has changed to laminar/B738/autopilot/mcp_hdg_dial

I tried to modify the files in the .zip file to reference this new dataref but could not make it work.

    Thanks again.
I hope to live stream soon. I am loving this MCP panel.

  • Hi Jon,
It's not so much the new datarefs, but Zibo has also created some new commands. As Zibo's work is still a 'work in progress', he hasn't updated the command or dataref files as yet. I've had a look around the lua scripts and have done up a new command file, DREDatarefs file and MCPPRO xml file.
These files only work with Zibos 3.10 versions. You can't use them for 3.06 or earlier.

Just make sure you copy the command file and DREDaratrefs file into the .../aircraft/B737-800X directory (or whatever you've called it) before you start GIT. Once you've started GIT import the new MCPPRO xml.

    See how you get on.

  • Hello David,

Thank you for providing us your config files for the Zibo mod.

I am new to the GIT and programming my panels.

I managed to import your original zip file in to GIT, and am seeing a error window pop up related to the EFIS VOR.
I made some changes to the functions of the second GF-166, as the course can be set with the MCPPRO.
So I have it set to control NAV1 and 2 with the left and right push button.
I also managed to get my GF-46 to control the transponder.

In order to update the individual module (say MCPPRO) xml, without affecting the functions of the other modules, do I need to copy the content from the MCPPRO.xml file, and paste it in the existing xml file with a text editor, like Notepad? Or is there an easier way?

Sorry for asking, but as I mentioned, I am new to this.

The Goflight pdf's are very basic in their explanations, but studying your config files has been very helpful in starting to understand the programming of the modules in GIT.

Again, I appreciate your effort in providing us with your config files.
  • Hi David, my name is John and I have a GF-MCP and like to know if this unit can run with my X-Plane 11 with Zibo 738.
If it can can you help me how.
    Thank you
    John
  • Hi John,
The unit will run with Zibo B738 but will have limited functionality within the sim. The number of displays is the same between the MCP and the MCP-PRO so they would have the same mappings. Same number of rotaries so that would also map correctly.

The difference is the number of buttons and what you want to assign to them. The NAV button on the MCP could map to either LNAV or VOR/LOC but not both (unless you wanted to do some coding and then it becomes complicated).

CMD button maps to CMD A. Straight forward.
HOLD (heading) maps to HDG SEL. Straight forward.
HOLD (ias/mach) - probably map to SPEED.
SEL maps to C/O. Straight forward.
HOLD (alt) maps to ALT HLD. Straight forward.
APPR button maps to APP. Straight forward.
BC button has no corresponding button on the PRO. I'd map it LVL_CHG.

So the things that you would still need to use through the sim are:
    Flight Directors
    A/T Arm
    N1
    SPD INTV
    VNAV
VOR/LOC if you mapped LNAV above.
    ALT INTV

  • David, this Bo.. any chance you will be updating the GIT for the new zibo/ultimate 900? i have tried to import your existing profiles from the 800, but do not work on the 900 even though they appear to be the same, thanks Bo
  • Hi Bo,
Haven't looked at the Ultimate yet. Like flying the -800. I'll download it tonight and have a look over the weekend.

    David
  • Also look forward to any 900 profile that you build out. Thanks. In the current 3.26b (738 zibo) I have lost the ability to do IAS on the MCP
  • Disregard, IAS now working. A little reboot always helps
  • Hello David,

Any chance on an updated GIT config for the most recent Zibo Mod 738?
I too lost the ability to use IAS, and also have different lights come on, not matching the MCP in the cockpit.
  • looks like this thread has died.

Too bad, as the G-166's are no longer working since ZiboMod version 3.29
  • Back from overseas and starting to get back into flying again. Got 1 issue that I hope Steve will have an answer for, but apart from that the profile that I'm currently flying with still seems to be working Ok.

Tonight I'll save a fresh copy of all the hardware profiles, zip them up and post them for Steve to update the profile page.

    David
  • Just flown KBOS to KDFW with Zibo's B738 3.29d and worked a treat.

    Steve,
Can you please update the 3rd party x-plane config for Zibo's B738-800 (MCP PRO, EFIS, GF166, LGTII) with the attached zip file.

    Thanks.
    David
  • Done! Thanks.
  • Good to hear you are back. I just downloaded the latest zip file and will give that a shot. Really love the ZiboMod, but not without all my panels working.

Thanks for the fresh upload, David.
  • Well, Still having the same issue. GF-166 displays are not showing anything. Do I need to add and Commands.txt and/or Dataref.txt files?

I even in-installed and re-installed the interface tool. The modules are working just fine in P3D, but just not in X-Plane 11.
Friday is my day off, so you all know what I will be doing....
  • Have you checked that there are Commands and Datarefs assigned on the GF166's? Are there any errors in the Log?

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Dutchdc3, Everything in the screenshot looks normal. GIT is recognising the devices. My profile uses the Aircraft Power to turn on (although I've just checked and the MCP-PRO doesn't. DOH). The GF-166 uses the AV_ENABLED option for the devices. The zip file contains the aircraft_power file to import. Not sure if that's your issue.

    David
  • David,
There are Commands and Datarefs.txt files in the B738X folder, but they have no content at all. I did try loading the aircraft_power file, but that made no difference.

I will be checking the log file i a bit. I do remember getting an error "Some controls failed to load" when loading the GF-166 files.

Over night I instaled a clean version of X-Plane 11 to see if that fixes the issue. I'll post an update shortly.
  • Well issue resolved.
After I installed a clean copy of X-Plane 11 (kept the original installment but changing it's folder name) I noticed that the plugins folder had Commands.txt and Datarefs.txt files that were missing in the original installment. I copied the two files over from the clean install. Performed a clean install of the interface tool, installed a clean copy of the ZiboMod 3.29e. Loaded up the aircraft, and imported the config files you made available.
And EUREKA!! all modules are now working properly. I am a very happy camper.

    Time to request taxi clearance.

    Thanks for the help David.
