GIT failing after moving Goflight modules to different powered hub

After replacing a powered hub, my GIT reported an error. I have deleted the GIT folder in Documents and also uninstalled, reinstalled GIT, rebooted, etc. Still getting the attached failure message. Most frustrating.

  • That is very odd. Try renaming Documents\GoFlight Interface Tool so GIT starts up with a clean config.

  • I did that. I was not clear enough in my note. When I said "deleted the GIT folder in Documents" that is what I meant. I dragged it out of the Documents folder and stored it elsewhere. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled all of GIT, starting the reinstall with a fresh download from your site. That is why I am baffled. Any other advice? I must say that the Goflight products and your software take much too much babysitting to keep them running. The GF46 and GFP8 are particularly unreliable. It is a gamble evry time I use my sim setup.

OK, it looks like a corrupt settings file. Go to C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software and delete everything you find in there. AppData is a hidden directory so you will need to change your settings in Explorer to see it.

I would expect your GF46 to be unreliable as all GoFlight gear with displays are very finicky about the USB connections and it takes a lot of work to get it stable. However your P8 should be rock solid and if it isn't you either have faulty hardware or serious USB issues.

  • Deleting everything in that location cured the issue. That is a very useful step to know as I have had corruption problems like this once before. Thanks.
