My GF-EFIS & MCP stop working

My EFIS and MCP suddenly stopped working. What should I do to restore its function?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the interface tool but everything remains the same.

  • I would recommend you roll back whatever changed on your PC.

Also look at the FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

  • Finally, after uninstalling and reinstalling the modules, I managed to get the EFIS back to work correctly, but not the MCP-PRO.
I have already read all the recommendations in FAQ (LED's And Displays Are Not Working) and I have put them into practice but without any positive results for the MCP-PRO.
    What else can I do.
    Thank you
  • If you have followed all the steps in the FAQ, the only other thing to try is excluding your flight sim program directory and GIT from your anti-virus software.

  • Hi Steve
Done, but nothing changed, still the same situation.
GF, sent me the MCP-PRO - Panel Check and I can see all the switches and buttons are working.
When I start the FS, I can see the LED numbers and the green lights on for 3 seconds and then turn off

  • Can you try with a default aircraft such as the Beech Baron. When its as the VC, click the FS Default button on the MCP PRO tab and ensure the MCP PRO is enabled in GIT. Then quit GIT and restart it with the Beech Baron and see if the MCP PRO works OK. If it does, what aircraft is it not working with?

  • Hi Steve.
Sorry for the late reply but I stopped working with my FS construction, now I'm back and still have problems with the MCP-Pro.
I did what you told me in your last message and it works with any other airplane of Prepar3D v4, but not with the PMDG 737-800.
    Please your assitance.

  • Hi Daniel,

Double check the steps in the FAQ, its always one of these issues that cause this problem. See FAQ entry "My MCP PRO or MCP Advanced is not updating its display (just showing zeroes)" here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/user-guide-git/16-installation/70-faq-goflight-interface-tool.html

  • Hi Steve
Done. I Followed up the 8 steps in the section indicated by you, but nothing seems to change the situation.
My question is: why the MCP works with the default airplanes but not with the PMDG. I have reinstaled the PMDG several times but still the same. I have the updated version of the PMDG and all the programs/driverrs recomended, but the MCP of GF do not want to recognised the PMDG airplanes.

  • Are you running the correct version of GIT for your flight sim? If you are running P3Dv4 you can try either version of GIT for P3D. Are you sure you have the latest version of the PMDG aircraft?

  • Hi Steve

I think if I have the latest GIT P3Dv4 64bit version. The problem is that I have been blocked to access the PollyPot page and there has been no way to let me in, neither by My Account nor by filling out the form in General Enquires, they say that I am a hacker (?), So I do not know If I have the last GIT version.
In regarding to the PMDG, yes I have the latest version.

  • I'm looking into the hacking issue as the security software is making lots of false positives at the moment.

You can get the GIT version from Settings, About. Let me know.

Try the standard version of GIT for P3D and see if that resolves the problem.

  • Hi Steve.

I finally got in, I have access to the PollyPot page again, now I'm in My Profile but I can not see any GIT version from Settings nor standard version of GIT for P3D.
    Where I can find them?
The version I'm using is; GIT P3Dv4 64Bit

  • The "About" button on the Settings tab will give you the version.

The 32bit version of GIT for P3Dv4 is GIT P3Dv4.zip. It should show up in your account profile.

  • Hi Steve
Do I have to pay for the 32 bit version?

  • OK. Noted. I'm going to download it. I'll let you know.

  • Hi Steve.
I download the zip file but it doesn't open, why? I do not know. Now I went to My Profile to try again and my downloads options are 0.

  • Hi Steve.
Please disregard my previous message, now I have the file open and installed but nothing changed. I can see the numbers and move the knobs but the same as before.. The only thing new is that if a click the keys; ALT HLD - APP-HDG, the F/D gos on.
  • I have seen this issue once before and something is wrong either with the PMDG installation or Simconnect. Basically GIT sends the request to receive data and either the aircraft or Simconnect is ignoring it. The only thing that has fixed it in the past is a reinstall of flight sim which is not ideal so I would make a final check against the FAQ in case you have missed something and them do a reinstall of flight sim if it still doesn't work.

  • Understood.

  • Hi Steve
I checked the FAQ all over again and deleted all the files in this carpet: AppData\Local\PollyPot_Software, but it´s the same as before, the GF MCP is not in parallel with the PMDG MCP.

  • Hi Steve
I reinstalled the flight sim and now the MCP is working but very erratic, if you try to stablish a heading or altitude, all the numbers go up and down, and you can't get the ones you want.

  • Hi Daniel,

Have you forgotten to set the MCP PRO to compatible add-on in GFConfig?

    Best wishes
    Steve
  • Hi Steve.
Yes, I forgot it. Now all is working ok.
    Thanks for all your suport.
