MCP RO COURSE KNOB PROBLEM
Hi,
I have an MCP Pro on Xplane and it seems to work fine except the right hand course knob will only turn the dial on my Project Magenta course indicator clockwise. I cannot turn it anti clockwise.
The left hand end knob works fine both ways. Before I pull it apart and try to replace the pot is there a software thing that might have the effect of mending it. I am thinking perhaps of things like the "Detective"
Have I changed something in the default settings? Maybe it might be possible to post a snapshot of the default settings on the site like the other panels which are currently showing.
I would appreciate the same snapshot for a GF 166 if possible
Thank you for a PC novice but enjoying sim again
Thank you
David

Hi David,
If you contact John at Goflight he can send you some MCP PRO test software that will help you determine if the POT is failing.
Best wishes

Thank you, firstly for your help with the reply problem .
I have rune John Kreigs test software and the panel works fine in all aspects. The rt hand course knob however still only works in a clockwise manner. The left works in all directions.
I do however have reset the MCP Pro every time I load as it show no device in the window and next to it Disabled. I have tried saving settings but it always defaults to the above. Is this linked to my problem do you think ?

David

It works in the only plane that I fly BUT in the "Sky view panel" of the Aerobask "ECLIPSE" but it does not transfer to the PMG regional jet instrument cluster on a second networked screen from a second computer for instruments only and maps. Neither does the ADF but throttle , speed , height , and gear and flaps etc all work fine. This second computer connect via Wide client to main sim unit.It worked well in Plane 10 but not version 11

The plane has an extremely comprehensive dash panel and most of it is a very good working model. however to get the MCP pro to integrate with it seems difficult as it just seems not to reflect the same actions as the dash panel on the main aircraft. This is probably because I have not mastered the set up mess in the "detective" menu. I have a great deal of learning to do with this it would appear. If I add to this the fact that some or most of the functions of the aircraft are properly reflected in PMDG /regional jet except the ADF / the course knob from time to time and no function on left knob at all despite the panel checking out with Go Flight software checker form John Kreig at Go Flight. The PMG and G map are on a network worked computer via Wide Client and the main three screens are via Triple head to Go and an Nvidia 980 GTX card with $MB Graphics output. Its a frustrating process because for years I had FX Microsoft sim finally working in all aspects and now although I feel X plane 11 is superior and will be even better as time passes its a frustrating mess and this is perhaps why I have not been able to the thing working to satisfaction level.
I enclose some shots which may explain the general layout and would be grateful if you had a general plan for me to follow to sort this out maybe. I am happy to put the work in but as always experience will mean that problems are solved in an orderly way and more effectively.
Thank you for your time and interest

I have some basic questions to answer here and I apologise in advance if they found stupid but I have watched the videos and am still unsure of the following:
1. I have Sandy barbers software installed on my computer (Windows 7 re installed not 10) and it has a Go flight panel selector which is active I assume. What do I untick in the Xplane 11 plugin menu to stop this conflicting?
2.In the standard GoFlight menu which in a video is implied tat I use before I use the P/Pot software there is no mention of X Plane 11 . All other versions are mention and even selecting the X Plane folder to try and direct the software to it does not work. Do I need the Go flight basic interface ( Polly pot) before I can use Pollypot.
3. How can I fid instructions for programming the MCPPRO ? There is no file for the Aerobask 550 issued by others so its start fro scratch. I simply don't understand all the possible options in the P/P menu and detective and yet I am not stupid I can program and fly these !! They have turbines and on board computers so I cannot believe I am that stupid.
Any help very much appreciated.
David
2) You have two choices for GoFlight with XPlane use. Sandy's plugin which is not programmable and relies on using standard Datarefs and Commands only so it may or may not work with the Aerobask. Your 2nd choice is to buy the GoFlight Interface Tool for X-Plane and use that to build a config for the Aerobask.
3) There is a full user guide here: https://www.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/support/user-guide/goflight-interface-tool-x-plane.html
