Zibo 737 MCP Pro, T8, 2x 166, 46, TQ6 advanced, MESM.

Hey Guys. Above is my current setup to use with zibo 737. I've gotten some stuff to work with the MCP Pro. I can't get the cmd a button working or any of the push buttons working. I've gotten all the nobs to work though. I have downloaded the goflight interface tool and using that for my configuration.

I have noticed that when I load up xplane, I have to unplug my GF166 radios and 46 for the transponder and plug them back in to get them to work. I seem to have to do that every time I load up. Also, I have noticed that my GF166's have been freezing up mid flight.

My current software I have setup is the Goflight interface tool, I also have GF-Config software installed because I thought I had to have that loaded as well to get the modules to talk to XPlane. Am I correct in that thinking or am I causing some confusion in software?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

There is an existing profile for the Zibo in the Downloads section of the website.

You don't need anything from GoFlight in regards to software as they don't support X-Plane. GIT uses a dll from GoFlight called GFDev.dll to talk to the hardware and that's all you need.

In regards to the GF166 and GF46 there are numerous discussions in the forum on the issues with these devices. They are notorious for locking up and you have to try numerous things to stop it, such as only using USB 2 or USB1 ports to connect them, turning off power management on the hubs and devices in Windows, spreading the GF166 and GF46's across multiple USB 2 or USB1 powered hubs etc. Just do a search and you will find loads of useful hints as various things work depending upon your PC.

  • Thanks Steve for the Reply.

But the thing is if I don't have GF XPlane software installed my radios won't light up. I can't seem to get them to work with just the GF Interface tool.
  • Everything seems to be working on this flight. I Just have to disconnect the usb and reconnect it every i load xplane 11. Anyone else have this issue?
  • The only bit of the GoFlight software that you need is GFDev.dll. Its likely that when you uninstall the GoFlight software it remove GFDev.dll so GIT can no longer function. Take a copy of the file, uninstall and then copy the file back.

Lots of people have issues with the GF166's and GF46's. There is a wealth of information on the forum around this particular hardware issue.

  • Thanks Steve. I don't know what it is about leaving the modules plugged in. But I've seemed to find the trick.

GF IT Recognizes the modules just fine. I load GF IT then XP11. I flip the battery switch on the airplane and nothing happens. I have to disconnect the USB cables completely, plug them back in, then restart GF IT. I leave XP11 up in the background. Once GF IT restarts I have no issues.

I'm trying to figure out a way if I can reset the USB without unplugging everything. Or why it even has to be that way for it to work.

  • The hardware is locking up and soon as GIT write to the devices. You will need to follow the advice in various posts on the forum about power management, USB hubs etc.
